Just like performing (rituals), building mandalas, accumulating empowerment substances, performing ritual recitations, practicing during the day, making offerings at night, reciting scriptures, explaining the meaning of scriptures, giving guidance, and transmitting lineage teachings is not like this, but the master Black (Tibetan: སློབ་དཔོན་ནག་པོ།) the fortunate one, the incarnate dakini Yeshe (Yeshe, Tibetan: ཡེ་ཤེས།, Sanskrit Devanagari: ज्ञान, Sanskrit Romanization: jñāna, Literal meaning: wisdom) dakini, just by having a meeting of minds and blessing the mindstream, in an instant, attained extraordinary wisdom, understood all the essential points of the tantras, and simply by granting permission, obtained the ability to extensively accomplish the benefit of sentient beings. This is the unsurpassed empowerment and subsequent permission of pith instructions. Taking this as an example, in the biographies of the great accomplished ones of the past, the way one transmitted teachings to another was mostly like this. In our land of Tibet, it seems that even with just this understanding, one might fall into either of the two extremes. Most of the foolish people, and those who follow the foolish and pretend to be wise, are because they have a vague understanding of the accomplished ones, so the current lamas and ordinary disciples, who have not even grasped the basics, and the old and decrepit also want to imitate the behavior of the accomplished ones, performing empowerments, explaining tantras, cutting off all pith instructions, placing scriptures on their heads, and thinking that a meeting of minds is enough, etc., and they boast of being virtuous and heroic in things they do not know and cannot do. That kind of lama does not explain, the disciple does not understand, and both teacher and student pretend to know what they do not know, and it seems that this will only lead to the extreme of annihilation. However, those who value mantra texts and rituals now treat the holy ones, accomplished ones, and supreme practitioners with the same methods used for beginners. This is because they are too attached to formalities, or they become rigid by pretending to be clever, which is the extreme of permanence relative to the former. Therefore, for beginners, there is a need for teachings from a lineage with a reliable source and an unbroken transmission, a need for ritual practices that are proficient and without error, a need for recitations and practices that reach the standard, a need to have no doubts about the scriptures they have learned, and to be able to clearly focus their attention, and a need for pith instructions that are sure to be effective in practice. This is the realm of activity of the accomplished ones.

Therefore, this is not something else. Even if there is no such certainty, do not have wrong views and doubts about it. Please pray with reverence. There, because the Indians were jealous of the Dharma and worried about being chased, Vairotsana put the quick-walking instructions into practice. He gave a reward to the leader of quick-walking, making it seem as if he had not been caught. He went to Tibet quickly. During the day, he taught the common Dharma of cause and effect to the Tsanpo, and at night, he secretly taught the Great Perfection Dharma. At that time, the dreams of the Indians were reversed. It was learned that the seal of the great Dharma treasury of Vajrasana had been damaged, and the Dharma was incomplete. Spies were sent to create doubt in Tibet. The concubine Tsepongza failed to deceive Vairotsana, so she bribed the sinful ministers. Using the Indian spy as an excuse, they requested that Vairotsana be punished. The king agreed to exile him, so he superficially immersed a beggar in water. The master made himself invisible in the umbrella room of Utsé, but Mar-gyan found out, and Vairotsana had to be exiled to Tsawa Rong. These stories are expanded in "Mime" and so on, so this is all for now. The categories of translating the Holy Dharma are: Twenty-one Mind Section texts, such as "The All-Creating King of Bodhicitta"; Eighteen volumes of "Lung"; The tantras of the Space Section, such as "Vast Expanse of Space," contain twenty thousand verses. Those also depend on being in the hands of accomplished individuals, so they have not been completely completed. Later, Vairotsana accepted Yudra Nyingpo in Gyalmo Tsawa Rong, and made that place ripen. He also worked for the benefit of beings in Kham. After going to China, he mixed the Dharma language with great siddhas and dakinis. Relying on tantras such as "Yarlam Yeshe Sangwa," with the oral instructions of the Vajra Bridge, he accepted Spangmi Pamgonpo. He was eighty-five years old, and had not completed the Dharma in his youth. In his old age, he was even hated by relatives and brothers. Because he was very old and his hearing was bad, he used a cushion and a backrest. In order to remember the instructions, he was given a wooden staff. By practicing according to the master's instructions, he directly saw the naked nature of reality. Realization arose like a flash of lightning, and the old man was very happy, embracing the master's neck and not letting go for a whole day.
