The way of never attaining Buddhahood. From 'Lion's Strength Perfection': By meditating on contemplation, the meaning of reality is not seen. Self-appearing samadhi is separate from the side of thought. Reality free from elaboration is equal to the edge of the sky. There is no grasping or conceptualization of the objects of focus. The Buddha who is free from the four extremes is self-aware wisdom. The Dharmakaya is beyond the extremes of existence and non-existence. Thus, it is said that in emptiness, the obstacle of clinging to it is abandoned as a great liberation. Furthermore, even if one confidently assumes that the nature of being beyond the extremes of existence and non-existence is like this, it is still a great obscuration of one's own ground, bound by fixed ideas. As it says in 'The Great Garuda': Whatever effort is made without limit, is like a blind bird searching for the edge of the sky, it is not found. No one can alter this unfound meaning. There is no end to this knowable, free from elaboration. Thus it is said. Similarly, when thoughts arise, whether virtuous or non-virtuous, or when appearances of form and so on arise in any of the objects of the six senses, although one does not intentionally grasp at them, merely blocking the appearance of objects with mental constructs such as the negation of emptiness and non-affirming negation, according to the system of intellectual vehicles, is not enough to attain Buddhahood. As it says in 'The All-Creating King': The actions of the All-Creating King are immeasurable. When the six objects appear to the six senses, seeing suffering, one blocks the senses. By this, the actions of the All-Creating are immeasurable, and there is no result of being free from arising and ceasing. Thus it is. If that is the case, isn't it close to the Mind-Only school, which believes in true appearances and is tainted, if appearance and the object of appearance are not distinguished? For example, when one sees a mountain, the first moment of thinking 'it is a mountain' is unavoidable on the path of ordinary beings. However, in the second moment, the conceptual thoughts of the mountain vanish without a trace as the power of the mind and mental events that analyze the nature of the mountain are perfected. At that time, although the appearance of the mountain does not cease, becoming accustomed to abiding in the nature of reality without grasping at it, purification occurs simultaneously with arising and liberation, and the mixing of appearance and mind is the unerring path of the Great Perfection of self-nature. As Rigdzin Garab Dorje said: At the time of arising, there is no good or bad in simultaneous arising. At the time of liberation, there is no good or bad in simultaneous liberation. Thus it is. Therefore, one does not need to purify the impurities of the elements with the labor of accepting and rejecting, and the notion of protecting and violating
