Or once, or seven times, or three times, etc. The necessity is stated in 'Klong gsal': Like this, who has settled it? Pacifying the disturbance of elements, diseases, and calamities, grasping becomes self-liberated. Thus it is said. Second is placing the fingers, from 'Passed After': Shravaka, Bodhisattva, Wrathful One, with their respective postures, also place the fingers. Thus, all three are mastered, and one strives in practice. Thus, first is the posture of the Shravaka, possessing the seven dharmas of Vairochana, placing it without altering the arising feeling of conceptualization. Second is the posture of the Bodhisattva, placing the eyes at the height of the neck yoke, without support. Third is the posture of the Wrathful One, spreading the legs in the stance of a giant. The eyes move fiercely, gazing into space. The mouth utters 'Haha,' which is the laughter of the Wrathful One, and 'Hihi,' which is the song of the Wrathful Mother, and in this state, one trains in the asceticism of concealing the false root of appearance. The necessity is stated in 'Klong gsal': With the peaceful posture of the Shravaka, body, speech, and mind are settled. With the posture of the Bodhisattva, settling and happiness are attained. With the posture of the Wrathful One, settling also accomplishes three qualities. Thus it is said. In old texts, there are differences from the seven-fold posture of Vairochana, such as focusing the eyes on the tip of the nose, and the posture of the Bodhisattva not abiding in peace, etc., all of which are appearances running wild. Second, the actual way of guiding is divided into two. First, in order to sow the seeds of the four bodies, and to become a vessel for practicing the quick path, the actions of entering the great mandala of empowerment and ripening it are actually obtained in this very moment. After the actions of guidance are completed, empowerments etc. do not conform to reality, and are not beautiful in the presence of those who understand the meaning of the tantras. Second, also from the meaning of the term, this Vajra Essence Unsurpassed Vehicle, which makes the result into the path, is the reason why it is the actual basis of all the paths to Buddhahood, and the nature of the result is introduced on awareness. The first is, it is the basis but not actual, like seeing a temple but not seeing the three supports, for profound clarity and appearance emptiness etc., merely relying on interconnected words, and believing that it is view and meditation, is also not the case. It is actual but not the basis, not seeing the three supports, but the characteristics

To ascertain the view is not to fall into the four extremes or the eight extremes of elaboration. Although understood through conceptual thought, it is not a "Prayasapa" that does not attach to experience. It is not the tenet of remaining an ordinary person at the time of death because one has not directly realized the essence of selflessness, merely taking the view that all phenomena are without inherent existence, like not seeing illusory appearances and Shakyamuni Buddha, and using this as a path through conceptual thought alone. Rather, this view of the Great Perfection Heart Essence, the essence of both reality and the basis, is like ascertaining the state of abiding as it is, thinking that view and meditation are sufficient, but instead, it directly reveals self-liberation without relying on anything. The second part has two aspects: the Khechö (khregs chod, Cutting Through Resistance) instruction, where sharp individuals are liberated by reciting "La bzla" (la bzla, recitation) even without meditation; and the way of attaining complete nirvana without remainder of the body, by diligently meditating on Tögal (thod rgal, Direct Crossing), liberating into the appearances of the three Kayas on the path. The first part also has two ways of introducing the differences in faculties. The first is the common way: For those who have faith and are suitable vessels for the Heart Essence, but whose awareness is obscured, the introduction is adorned as follows: Emaho! Introduce appearance as mind, thereby taming the mind. Introduce mind itself as emptiness, thereby filling emptiness with bliss. Introduce emptiness as awareness, thereby awareness itself is inseparable from the Dharmadhatu, that is the Dharmakaya. Like this, introduce appearance as being made by the mind, thereby reversing the self-grasping inherent in oneself. In this way, introduce the mind that creates as emptiness, thereby abandoning attachment to external objects. Introduce emptiness as awareness, thereby guiding to the key point of not falling into nihilistic views of reality. This is not close to the intention of the Heart Essence, but is only now understood, as it says in "Self-Arisen": "Appearance is the yoga of the mind, all arises from my mind. If one realizes the nature of mind, what need is there for other practices? Those who proclaim this everywhere, I have not said they are liberated." This means that other schools consider the mind not to be ultimate truth, but only established in relative truth, thereby using view, meditation, and focused attention as the path, and similarly, there is also the Dharma of union, connecting the two and embellishing them as union. But in this Great Perfection, which is originally the Great Perfection of the equality and completeness of awareness and emptiness, there is no need to unite them again, it is without difference.
