It must also be destroyed, so that one realizes! Having examined in this way, and searching within the indivisible atoms, if the place of arising of the mind is not found, although one knows that like a dream, its nature is not established. However, if the root of the arising awareness, which shines like the summer sun, appearing like mind and mental factors, is not severed, then like the Madhyamaka-Yogacara, one wanders in the direction of hoping for a way of abiding in negation and non-negation. Therefore, look back at the mind of the seeker! Even if one looks, if one thinks that the mind is just a momentary self-clarity, or that the various flowing thoughts that arise are ultimate, it is like having confidence in the boundless, rootless expanse of mind, so one still has not directly seen awareness. Furthermore, if one says that it arises from the side of emptiness, then, because the Khenpo sees it, there must necessarily be shape, color, signs, size, direction, etc., so its nature must be examined. Having examined in this way, if the grasping and the grasped, which appear as the place of searching and the seeker, suddenly collapse in a state of objectlessness, dependence, transcendence of speech and thought, and freedom from all commitments, then, groundless and rootless.

The near attainment that is complete upon the three doors, etc., whatever signs of experience and sensation arise, and appear to be present there, is caused by the aggregate of formation, conditioned by the discriminating thoughts that arise suddenly, and matures into the fruit of ownership due to the mind's attachment to the object of grasping. When the grasper and the grasped, the object, are exhausted, and one endures until the exhaustion of the nature of reality, even if surrounded by a hundred executioners, the meaning of having no fear or apprehension is also accomplished by this. The third is examining the place to go and the goer: Whether it is the outer and inner environment and beings, appearance and emptiness, existence and non-existence, etc., no matter which direction one goes, by examining the place to go, one does not find a place to go, thus reversing the mind that clings to hope and doubt regarding the fruit. If one were to find it, one would also need to know the characteristics of the goer's face, etc., but upon examination, it is not like that, so one believes that one cannot attain Buddhahood through artificial Dharma. Thus, since there is no place to go, one is certain that the appearance of objects is made by the mind. Since there is no goer, one gains confidence that the object does not have its own nature. At that time, awareness and emptiness are without coming or going, and one is established as an emanation body. Like this, the three, the place of origin, the place of dwelling, and the place of going, are within the realm of the uncommon, and also possess the key instruction for the collapse of the house of the mind, therefore it is a particularly excellent swift path. Thus, by performing the preliminary practices of the mind, in the common aspect, the sins and obscurations of the mind are purified, obstacles are pacified, and attachment is reversed. In the special aspect, because samsara and nirvana are distinguished, the nature of the mind is liberated into awareness, emptiness, and wisdom. Ultimately, it causes the mind vajra, which is inseparable from all Buddhas, to reach the original ground. The second part has two divisions: settling into the natural state and restoring to its original condition. The first part is from the Madhyamaka-karika: At this time, the key points of body, speech, and mind, should be settled into the natural state by those who possess yoga. This means that in order to settle the confused state of the elements and the five great elements caused by those special and excellent preliminary practices into their original, unaltered nature, the key point of the body is to transcend good and bad, acceptance and rejection, and to place it comfortably like a corpse in a charnel ground. Speech should be trained to settle into the nature of being free from speaking and expression, even slowing down the movement of breath in the central channel. The mind should be freed from thoughts, discriminations, and distractions, and settled like the sky after the clouds have cleared, that is, in a state of yoga without action or agency, settling into the natural state requires twenty days.
