Having abandoned external and internal distractions, and abiding in non-conceptual meditation, as experience increases and time lengthens, generate a definite understanding in your mind that you should never be separated from this meaning. This is cultivating the mind with seven methods. In conclusion, relying on non-conceptualization, cultivating the mind is the supreme gateway to entering the path of samadhi. In the "Drop of Liberation," it says, "By inhaling the upper air, one controls appearance; by inhaling the lower air, one controls emptiness; by swirling and churning the intermediate air, one attains union." As it is said, the appearances of sentient beings remain outward, awareness remains inward, and in between, driven by the winds of karma, the mind acts as a horse, wandering in the state of grasping and being grasped, confused in the continuous cycle of samsara. The swift path of Vajrayana relies on binding the activity of the incoming and outgoing karmic winds, unlike the lower vehicles, which rely on prolonged speculation in the net of conceptualization, using awareness to infer meditation. Instead, it is a forceful instruction to recognize the innate wisdom. This has three aspects. First, with your body in a state of possessing the seven qualities of meditation, the inside of your abdomen empty and clear, like a hollow bamboo tube, the central channel straight like a sapling in water, thin like a lotus petal, blue like a cloudless sky, clear like a lamp of refined sesame oil, contemplate these four qualities. At the upper end of the crown of your head, visualize a white ཧཾ་ (Tibetan: ཧཾ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: हं, Sanskrit Romanization: haṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Hum), and at the lower end below your navel, visualize a clear red ཨ་ (Tibetan: ཨ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Chinese literal meaning: A). In the state of possessing the four unions, press down the upper air and lift up the lower air, causing fire to blaze from the ཨ་ (Tibetan: ཨ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Chinese literal meaning: A) at your navel. Gradually, the ཧཾ་ (Tibetan: ཧཾ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: हं, Sanskrit Romanization: haṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Hum) at the upper end melts, and a stream of nectar descends, pervading the four chakras and all the branch channels, giving rise to the wisdom of bliss and emptiness. Contemplate this, and focus your mind on a single white ཨ་ (Tibetan: ཨ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Chinese literal meaning: A) at your heart, abiding single-pointedly, cutting off distractions. In this way, the wisdom of emptiness, with bliss as the means, will arise. Until you are familiar, practice short sessions frequently. Second, cultivate the mind in clarity and emptiness, non-conceptualization: exhale three or nine times to expel the impure air, which is necessary to release the toxic winds from the body. Then, when inhaling, dissolve all the coarse external appearances into light,

Mixing. When that (mixed air) arises within one's own body, visualize the entire body filled with blue-green color, and then press the air downwards. Slightly relax the lower air, close the mouth and meditate, and the experience of clarity and emptiness will arise. Moreover, if the feeling of cold is strong, that air will become hot; if the feeling of heat is strong, visualize having a cool touch, this is the key. This is what the venerable Samye said. Those who like elaboration, if they want to practice the winds of each element, they should practice like the "Son Letter Wisdom Lamp." However, in the Lama Yangtig's "Mind Training Essential Instructions," it says: The air of space is auspicious at all times, and touch also gathers in these two, so this alone is sufficient for practice. Such a vase-like (breath) is the source of all qualities. In the "Oral Instructions, Rosary of Jewels," it says: That is also the supreme Madhyamaka, so it does not show any experience of seeing. Again, without exhaling the air, but inhaling and holding the breath, through the path of the solitary air channel, it enters from the lower end of the central channel, like the hip of the letter "I." Entering the path of the central channel, the non-reversed realization of the first ground will arise. As each sign of entering, abiding, and dissolving appears, the first knot of the central channel is untied. Entering the air will generate the qualities of the first ground. There, when the air and mind abide, the qualities of the second ground will arise. There, when all the air and mind dissolve, the thoughts of grasping and being grasped become clear like the sky, and the qualities of wisdom completely increase. Even on the mundane level, qualities such as longevity, few illnesses, physical comfort, and being as swift as a bird are the qualities of practicing the vase-like breath as the key. Therefore, all the qualities of air must arise dependent on the vase-like breath. So, all those who practice life-force air should practice the vase-like breath as the key. Because this is what (the master) said. Third, training the mind in the state of non-conceptualizing the nature of reality, relax the body and mind, do not move the eyes, and without relying on the effort of deliberately holding the air, directly stretching the middle air is a very profound instruction. In the "Oral Instructions, Rosary of Jewels," it says: Listen, practitioner of life-force air, with the body in a comfortable posture, slightly inhale the lower air, slightly press down the upper air, and the merit of directly stretching the middle air to the front of the navel is:
