In the ritual, it says, "Give the tooth wood and kusha grass in the palm of your hand." Like that, give it to the disciple's hand. The previously prepared mandala's enclosure, draw eight lotus petals with white lines, surrounded by a circle, or on a mandala that is one cubit square, arrange nine heaps smeared with incense and bezoar in front, arranging them without mistaking the directions. Visualize the tooth wood arising from the syllable Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese Meaning: Hūṃ), the disciple's two hands holding open in the sky, using the tip to scrape the tongue, using the root to rub the teeth, thereby clearing away all the sins and obscurations accumulated over lifetimes, and pray that it clearly shows the signs of how one will attain accomplishment. Facing east or north, throw away the tooth wood as instructed by the lama. Lama, May the essence of the Vidyadhara's body, speech, and mind, for the sake of attaining wisdom and supreme accomplishment, descend a burning mountain of fire from the central direction! Oṃ Vajra Hasa Ha (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་བཛྲ་ཧ་ས་ཧ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ वज्र हस ह, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ vajra hasa ha, Literal Chinese Meaning: Om, Vajra, Laugh, Laugh). Close your eyes and throw it away without hesitation, observing the signs of good and bad. If it is bad, the remedy is: As it is said in the scriptures, "If it falls in the four directions and the center, whichever of the five families it belongs to, one will attain accomplishment. If it falls in the corners, the subtle point is that above is the realm of the Dakinis, below is the realm of the earth indicated by the tip, if the root points to oneself, repeat three times and throw it. Throwing to the right is releasing life; throwing to the left is giving alms. Piling up horizontally, light one hundred and eight lamps. All bad things will become obstacles to the practice, accumulate purification, and perform great virtuous deeds." And so on. The third is giving a handful of water: Visualize the water in the conch shell as the ocean of nectar arising from the syllable Vaṃ (Tibetan: བཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: वं, Sanskrit Romanization: vaṃ, Literal Chinese Meaning: Vaṃ), bless it with the three syllables, and have the disciple drink it, visualizing the inside of the body filled with wisdom nectar, washing away all the conceptual thoughts and habitual tendencies. The guru recites the meaning of the mantra Oṃ (Tibetan: ཨོཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ, Literal Chinese Meaning: Om), guided by the syllable Oṃ (Tibetan: ཨོཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ, Literal Chinese Meaning: Om), emanating from the seed syllable of speech vajra, because all dharmas are completely pure, so please purify the sins of this body, please eliminate all conceptual thoughts. Hrīḥ (Tibetan: ཧྲཱིཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ह्रीः, Sanskrit Romanization: hrīḥ, Literal Chinese Meaning: Hrīḥ)! Vishuddha Sarva Dharma Pāvaṃ Vishuddha Nitzasya Vishodhaya Sarva Piga Lapanda Apana Ya Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese Meaning: Hūṃ)! Give it three times with the right hand, and after drinking, throw the remaining water backward from the direction of the left shoulder, visualizing the stains of the three doors being cleared away. The fourth is tying the protection cord: A thread equal to the height of the disciple's body.

Or red, or five-colored, folded in three layers, made of thread born from the syllable (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Hum). In order to bless the three doors, make three vajra knots, cleanse with water and bless with the root mantra. Afterwards, recite: Ho! The five-colored protective cord given by the lama, By being protected, may I myself become the body of the wrathful king, May all eighty thousand types of obstacles, Be crushed and destroyed like dust. After finishing the recitation, the teacher ties it on the left arm of the male student and the right arm of the female student, according to the size of the obstacles of the white and red elements of the student, and recites: Om Sarva Buddha Maitri Raksha Raksha Sarvam Svaha. (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་སརྦ་བུངྔྷ་མཻ་ཏྲི་རཀྵ་རཀྵ་སརྦཾ་སྭཱ་ཧཱ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ सर्व बुद्ध मैत्रि रक्षा रक्षा सर्वं स्वाहा, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ sarva buddha maitri rakṣā rakṣā sarvaṃ svāhā, Chinese literal meaning: Om, all, Buddha, loving-kindness, protect, protect, all, Svaha). Tying it in two layers is an auspicious connection to protect against obstacles day and night, or inside and outside. Again, touch the knot with fragrant water containing a vajra in a cross shape, and say: Om Vajra Raksha Raksha Svaha. (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་བཛྲ་རཀྵ་རཀྵ་སྭཱ་ཧཱ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ वज्र रक्षा रक्षा स्वाहा, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ vajra rakṣā rakṣā svāhā, Chinese literal meaning: Om, Vajra, protect, protect, Svaha). Meditate that the body is covered with vajra armor as if it were melted and poured, and the intersections of the vajra cross are mutually shining. Fifth, giving kusha grass: Sprinkle kusha grass with cleansing water, and say: Om Vajra Tikshna Dhih Om Vajra Raksha Hum. Visualize that from the inconceivable state of kusha grass, the larger one arises from the syllable (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Hum), and the smaller one arises from the syllable Dhi, a bunch of kusha grass, blue-green, with the tips of the grass intact, possessing the power to not invert dreams. Recite the two seed syllables seven times. The disciple says: Ho! By the excellent grass pillow given by the lama, May the mandala deities enter my body, May the lama and vidyadhara assembly, Show me the signs of accomplishment. Finally, the teacher, to indicate the meaning of abundance, holds it with the left hand, and to indicate the meaning of the pillow, holds it with the right hand crossed and gives it, saying: Om Vajra Tikshna Bam. (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་བཛྲ་ཏིཀྵྞ་བཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ वज्र तिक्ष्ण बं, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ vajra tikṣṇa baṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Om, Vajra, sharp, Bam). The disciple says: Om Vajra Tikshna Siddhi Hum. (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་བཛྲ་ཏིཀྵྞ་སིདྡྷི་ཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ वज्र तिक्ष्ण सिद्धि हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ vajra tikṣṇa siddhi hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Om, Vajra, sharp, accomplishment, Hum). Then the teacher says: Oh! Tonight, in your respective places, with single-pointed devotion to the lama and the mandala, lie down in the lion posture, with the pillow facing north, reciting the mantra of nectar swirling. After sleeping like that, tomorrow tell all the good and bad dreams. Thus he instructs. Sixth, to generate interest in secret mantra, he teaches the Dharma: In the world, all-knowing Ah! Of the Udumbara tree
