It fell down. Some were robbed by wild animals and almost exhausted, and some were demanded by the owners of the livestock. Because he was too greedy, he was reluctant to even say it, pretending to be sick, and lay down in the thorns. At that time, when the cat came to steal the mouse at night, he also thought that someone had come to steal the gold nugget, so he thought of a way. He thought to himself: If I offer the gold nugget to the king, I will get a big family. At that time, my wife will give birth to a son. If he is proficient in learning and skills, he will not be eaten by ghosts and will become a minister of the king. For this reason, the gold nugget will return to my hand again, and I have no doubt about it, so I am even more happy, dancing and distracted, and the gold nugget falls from my hand and falls into the thorns. At this time he said: Memory is more important than gold nuggets! Because the wish-fulfilling jewel of memory is lost, the gold nugget falls into the hands of the enemy. This unconsciousness without memory makes the whole world bad. It is said that he said this. This example shows that because of the loss of memory, all the liberation and characteristics of inner and outer practice are completely lost. Even so, the merit of memory grows more and more, and finally brings people to the great realm of self-exhaustion of the source of memory, self-exhaustion of the Dharma, and transcendence of consciousness. For example, when making clay sculptures, if there is no wet mud at the beginning, the basis of making cannot be completed, and in the end, if the wetness completely disappears, the meaning of making cannot be completed. As it is said in the Vajra Peak Sutra: For a galloping horse, memory is the rein. Like an elephant being tamed by an iron hook. Like taming a wild horse with a rein. The galloping mind is tamed by memory. Clear memory is wisdom. Also, the supreme yogi asked: When becoming a Buddha, what will this awareness become? He said: The clear memory and discrimination of the mind is wisdom. He also asked: Does wisdom have memory? He said: What do you mean? Memory is the consciousness of sentient beings, and wisdom is beyond consciousness. Therefore, Prajnaparamita, which is free from all elaborations, with inconceivable wisdom, considers form to be me, considers me and form to be the remainder of the essence, considers form to have my essence, considers me

If one regards form as having its own essence, and similarly regards feeling, perception, volition, and consciousness, then by which Vijnanavada (Consciousness-only) view are these twenty views of the perishable aggregate, divided into four each, refuted? Form is not self-existent, because it would then be inherently impermanent. The second view is also incorrect, because what control does the self have over form, etc.? We see that one cannot choose to keep or discard them, and they decay even against one's will. Similarly, it is unreasonable to think that the self inherently exists in form, residing like a master in a servant, because the self cannot control form in the slightest according to its wishes. If the self inherently possessed form, how could one avoid the contradiction of seeing external forms, etc., as if there were no self? If you wish to understand these characteristics in detail, you should learn from the extensive commentary on the Letter to a Friend. Having refuted [these views], seeing all phenomena as empty of their own essence, a conviction that transcends conceptualization, like the expanse of the sky, is a samadhi that transcends the world, because it is free from the five aggregates. The practice of combining this experience with all subsequent discriminating wisdom is called mindfulness of the nature of reality, which is the antidote that uproots afflictions along with their seeds. Through such familiarization, the clinging to the experience of that discriminating wisdom, or the subtle and coarse defilements of the eight consciousnesses, these understood phenomena should not even be remembered or contemplated. Because remembering and contemplating would become obstacles, the obscurations, which are free from all dust and views, will be abandoned by the non-conceptual wisdom of the noble path of seeing. Therefore, the sutra says: 'That which is without memory and without mental engagement is the Perfection of Wisdom.' This actually reveals the true meaning of the sutra, and on one's own path, having obtained the name of mindfulness, a branch of enlightenment, mindfulness-appearance is established as wisdom. If expressed from the perspective of the Great Perfection's own nature, since what is to be abandoned and the antidote do not coexist, conceptual mindfulness does not enter. Because of naturally knowing, mindfulness does not help. Because of abiding in self-liberation, mindfulness does not bind again. Because there is no basis or root, the antidote of mindfulness is completely exhausted. Because there is no examination of the essence,
