Since there is nowhere to go, there is no expectation of becoming a Buddha. Since there is no place to wander in samsara, doubts about sentient beings are abandoned. Since only one aspect is seen when looking, looking is more important than contemplation. Since understanding enters into the speculation of the mind, it does not enter the path of thought. Since realization does not produce results, wisdom can maintain its natural state. Since the result is complete in the cause, there are no faults or virtues. Since the high and low of cause and effect are equal, happiness and suffering are perfected in the nature of reality. Since birth and death are not two, it is the great bindu. Having said this, the monk Monpa, Lato Chöje, Dham Kirti, Parong Kundrol, Khampa monk, and all the retinue who had received guidance rejoiced and praised the teachings of the Great Perfection. The "Words of Remembrance, Ocean of Qualities" is temporarily concluded. The fifty-sixth chapter of the Collection of Talks is complete. The fifty-seventh chapter of the Collection of Talks. Talks arising from mindfulness and awareness, the awl that distinguishes meanings. Named "Talks arising from mindfulness and awareness, the awl that distinguishes meanings." Homage to the eternal Vajra. Gon Tsetrul Rinpoche summarizes the answers to various questions, mainly about meditation, into one: about the continuity of mindfulness. Observing the continuity of "I must not be distracted." Similarly, now the continuity of mindfulness exists. Focusing on the awareness that "this is non-distraction" is said to be the essence of meditation. Unless one is an instantaneous type, most people first need to cultivate calm abiding and use this method. To eliminate its shortcomings, one must try to relax that tension as much as possible. It is like saying, "Tighten firmly and then loosen gently." This is different from the Great Perfection's mindfulness becoming the essence of meditation. Furthermore, when strong attachment and aversion arise, if one observes their essence, they are difficult to disappear immediately, because we have become very familiar with the attachment and aversion that should be abandoned in lifetimes. And the mindfulness of the antidote now only appears occasionally and has become artificial mindfulness. Since the power of what should be abandoned and the antidote are unbalanced, it can only be like this for the time being. But this will not turn into the fault of specifically blocking conceptual thoughts, nor is it that it is not necessary. Just like when learning crafts such as writing and sculpture, at first it may not meet the standards, but if you practice persistently, it will gradually get better.

It's like it suddenly appears, it's not meditation but habit. Habit merges into emptiness. This saying is true. When thoughts arise and dissolve on their own, abandoning and accepting become one, and thoughts of attachment and aversion also appear from the beginning as without self-nature. But this kind of thing doesn't happen at first. Therefore, when you feel the agitation, the thought cannot withstand the confrontation of mindfulness, and it becomes empty and clear, which shows that there is no misunderstanding of the key to maintaining the continuity of mindfulness. Even if the self-nature of attachment and aversion does not disappear, it is not like ordinary people, not only clinging to the grasper and the grasped, but accumulating selflessness and emptiness, and for the time being that is enough. The characteristic of Dzogchen is that it is called the perfection of mindfulness and the essence of self-cultivation, which means that in the momentary continuity of mindfulness, there is no need to be tense or relaxed, no need for artificial modification, no need to abandon or accept, but to maintain the continuity of the natural state. Furthermore, how are mindfulness and awareness, which arise like cause and effect, distinguished? Generally speaking, mindfulness and awareness are widely discussed in all meditation texts. I understand that mindfulness here refers to fabricated mindfulness. For example, by taking the three vows of Pratimoksha, Bodhisattva, and Mantra, and the pure mindfulness of the generation stage, etc., as the basis of mindfulness, it is established as awareness in order to prevent its state from weakening. Similarly, by taking the view of the mind, that is, the realm of non-duality, as mindfulness, awareness maintains its continuity, which is like the relationship between cause and effect. As it is said in the Bodhisattvacharyavatara: When mindfulness guards the gate of the mind, and exists for the sake of guarding, then awareness will come, and what has passed will also return. Just like this. Dzogchen is the union of view and practice, therefore, instead of cultivating the two parts of the mindfulness of view and the awareness of meditation, mindfulness itself is perfected as the essence of Samadhi, therefore awareness is seen as an obstacle to the knowable, so there is no before and after of cause and effect. The reason for this is that if there is mindfulness, then the awareness that transcends it is the defilement of wisdom. If there is no mindfulness, then the knower without the knowable is insufficient. As mentioned earlier: The thieves without awareness follow after the loss of mindfulness. This is clear. Although this is the case, during the time when the true nature has not been realized as it is, the mindfulness that clings to emptiness, and keeping
