Regarding the distinctions of Bodhisattvas, in the "Hundred Thousand Verses," Subhuti says: "Those who have entered (the Bodhisattva path) and those who abide in the fruition (of the Bodhisattva path) are different, but it should not be said that neither of these are noble beings." Subhuti, similarly, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva is one who has entered the path of non-interruption. The Tathagata Arhat Samyak-sambuddha is one who has attained unobstructed wisdom regarding all dharmas. Subhuti, this is the distinction between a Bodhisattva Mahasattva and a Tathagata Arhat Samyak-sambuddha. A Bodhisattva cultivates the six paramitas and the sixteen emptinesses in order to attain Buddhahood. A Tathagata is said to be counted as a Tathagata because he manifests perfect enlightenment with wisdom that possesses instantaneousness regarding all dharmas. Therefore, (one can understand) the stages of the path and the manner of liberation, the four stages of the path of learning, and the manner of obtaining the qualities of the grounds and virtues at the time of the path of no-more-learning. The ten-ground Bodhisattvas, in the subsequent attainment, receive the empowerment of the great rays of light of the Buddhas, and the manner of obtaining the distinctions of samadhi, such as obtaining the courageous conduct, etc. It is so on their own path, therefore it is true on their own ground, and they do not cling to the words of the Dharma. At this time, for the Vajra Essence Great Secret Path, temporarily these are regarded as provisional meanings. As it is said: "Buddha is mind, what need is there to say more? All sentient beings are their own minds. The teacher's teaching is their own mind. Therefore, the essence is equal, the supreme path is not apart from this." Thus, when the Dharma-nature of the great abiding of intrinsic nature becomes emptiness, the dharmas of view and meditation disappear, the tenets of the grounds and paths collapse, and to whom should the wisdom of perfect accomplishment be applied? Generally, for Dzogchen, the mind-to-mind transmissions prevalent in China have more of the luminous aspect than the profound aspect. The emptiness-emptiness cyclical teachings have both profound and luminous aspects in equal measure. The tantras of the Instruction Section and the masters of the Instructions have more of the profound aspect than the luminous aspect, this is the essence of the identification of tenets. And in one's own treatises, Vairochana and the lineage of Nyakla Vimala, etc., however many tenets of the lineage abide, they were very prosperous and accomplished in early Tibet.

To gain fame, relying on the Nyang Kong Yeshe Sangwa Gyü, Vairotsana imparted the oral instructions of the Vajra Bridge, ultimately at the Drakmar Dzong monastery in Tölung Rong, to Pangmipam Gonpo, who all attained the rainbow body. Pang transmitted it to Nganlam Jangchub Gyaltsen, who transmitted it to Zadam Rinchen Gyi, who transmitted it to Chyökyi Khu Gyur Sal, who transmitted it to Nyang Jangchub Drak, who transmitted it to Nyang Sherab Jungne of Üru Shä, who was not a monk, hung his robes and rosary on a single-trunked juniper tree on the Tari of Pukpoche, and then departed into the rainbow body. The practice lineage transmitted from Sherab Jungne, and Kyor Yeshe Lama, Vairotsana explained this at the Tsarong Taktse Khen monastery, and both the transmitted non-practice lineage flourished greatly among the disciples of Zur Chung Sherab Drak. In the Kham tradition, at Akham Denlong Tangdrönma, a reincarnation named Aro Yeshe Jungne appeared. He composed a work called "Mahayana Yoga," which Tsongkhapa greatly admired. The fifth generation from him was Kharak Gomchung. Aro's seven-generation lineages of China and Tibet were all explained to Chokro and Yazil Rongzom Chenpo. Or, transmitted from Ro Yeshe Jungne, Lama Zur Gongpa Bairo initially transmitted it to Yudra Nyingpo at the Gyarong Trakla Gonpo monastery, clearly stating that he was his direct disciple, and from this, the lineage was divided into the practice and non-practice lineages, known as the three lineages. In the midst of the snowy mountains, Samantabhadra appeared in person, and without relying on scriptures or reasoning, summarized the oral instructions of the three sections of the Great Perfection of Intrinsic Nature into one, turning the wheel of Dharma, which is certainly worthy of being praised by the name of the Victorious One, as the Victorious One said: "From sinful Dharma arises pride, therefore, approach pride less." This is the meaning of what was said. This is the tenet of Longchen Rabjam, in which the practice lineage considers Tögal to be superior, and the non-practice lineage considers Kada to be superior. Because very few people understand the essential characteristics of each tenet, most people praise and admire it because they have seen the superior qualities of Tögal. But in general, if Kada is not established, then the spontaneously accomplished
