Therefore, in the realm of clear light, in the nature of reality without bondage or liberation, liberation is ultimately becoming a Buddha. In self-aware immutability, without clinging to genuine views, regarding the Buddhas of past and future as intermediaries, one thinks of them as attainable. For this, there is no path to liberation, why is it that in the ocean of sutras and tantras, it is said that realizing one's own mind is Buddhahood, which contradicts this teaching. This is a truly certain scriptural authority. Therefore, in neither samsara nor nirvana, on the ground of non-differentiation, Kuntuzangpo (Samantabhadra) is liberated by knowing his own dharma, and sentient beings, by their own nature, are deluded from the cause of ignorance, like sleep and wakefulness, regarding this, one should know the nature of non-duality. // In the thirty-eighth question, what is called mind is the function of memory, thought, and awareness, which becomes the basis of various plans. Initially, sentient beings and Buddhas, when the three paths of samsara, nirvana, and the path are not established, the original, primordial abiding, how does the place of abiding, the nature, abide? // As an answer to the question, it is said: In the original, primordial abiding where the three paths of samsara, nirvana, and the path are not established, it is considered that the alaya is unconditioned. Moreover, in the Great Perfection, the basis of cutting off clinging as an intermediary, like seven blind men describing the state of an elephant with their own nature, distinguishing in a faulty way, considering one's own tradition as the supreme basis, existing in a differentiated way, namely essence, nature, and compassion, for one basis, they are different dharmas, stating the state in this way is like this: Moreover, from the aspect of the essence of original purity, it is not established as a real thing, the nature is the spontaneously accomplished sound of the Great Perfection, even if it has not become a face, hand seal, etc., it abides on the basis of clear manifestation, therefore, it does not abandon the nature of the original sound manifestation. From the aspect of compassion, it is wisdom, the uninterrupted planning of awareness, abiding in the state of great self, once its function manifests on the object, cutting off the uncertain part of awareness, obtaining the dharma of liberation, if deluded, then following the object, in order to open the door of impure samsara, therefore it is called the basis of both samsara and nirvana. Thus, it is said in the Prasangika, the initial essence, nature, and compassion exist in three ways. Moreover, the essence abides in the Dharmakaya, dharma and enjoyment

The rain of activity and emanation. A state without separation or division. Even in what is formed from the elements, There is no object for the mind, such as form and color. The nature of light that arises, White, red, yellow, green, and blue, Are not characterized by boundaries, But are established in the realm of unbiased knowledge. From the arising of various forms of compassion, There is no certainty of just one, Because of the appearance of various forms, it is called the "basis." Thus, speaking of the empty aspect, And speaking from the aspect of its essence, And the aspect of its clear nature, speaking from the aspect of means, From the distinction of these two aspects, As in the first case, it is like this: From the king of tantras without letters, I have no birth or death, Therefore, the unobstructed Dharma is completely perfect. I have no outer or inner, Therefore, the clear Dharma is completely perfect. I have no emptiness or substance, Therefore, the appearing Dharma is completely perfect. I have no object of focus, Therefore, the seeing Dharma is completely perfect. I have no body or mind, Therefore, the self-appearing Dharma is completely perfect. I have no self or other, Therefore, the five wisdoms are completely perfect. I have no cause for action, Therefore, the great contemplation is completely perfect. I have no direction or boundary, Therefore, the secret wisdom is completely perfect. I have no cessation of appearance, Therefore, the three Dharmas of space are completely perfect. Thus, it shows that its own nature is empty. As in the second case, it is like this: From the six expanses of the Great Perfection, In the appearance of its own nature, There is no grasping at characteristics, It is not color, but self-illuminating, Only aspects of knowing and awareness. Because there is no object to be grasped, There is no grasping aspect of conceptual thought. In the primordial radiance beyond light, It has been pervasive from the very beginning. In the self-radiance beyond form, It abides as the great seal of purity. However, in the appearance of its own nature, There is no focus on characteristics. Thus, summarizing the meaning of both, The meaning of the basis is primordial purity and spontaneous accomplishment, And the great indivisibility of its abiding state, Form and wisdom are inseparable. The beginningless suchness, The unrivaled self-arisen, The great wisdom, the primordial nature, Not separated in samsara or nirvana, Possessing the foundation for all of samsara and nirvana. This is not somewhere else, But in the Dharmata that appears as samsara and peace, It abides as the great, complete, and unchanging basis. Therefore, the meaning of the inexpressible basis.
