Therefore, those who rely on bathing and cleansing, conduct and fasting, etc., and the outer paths who travel the path with many austerities, are not like that. They enjoy the five meats and five ambrosias, rely on consorts, etc., and are superior because they do not distinguish between clean and unclean. Even if lower beings want to meditate on deities with skillful means and wisdom, they cannot because of their narrow minds. The inner path can do it, so it is superior because of the difference. The outer paths have not realized the inseparable nature of the two truths in their view, but the inner path realizes it, so it is the most superior. How is that explained by the four: essence, definition, necessity, and result? The essence is the play of wisdom inseparable from the truth, the nature of attaining liberation in one lifetime. The definition is that with a small effort, a great benefit is accomplished through skillful means, therefore the inner path is the vehicle of skillful means. The necessity is to obtain two kinds of accomplishments in one lifetime and one body, and the result is only to go to the state of Vajradhara. If you differentiate, there are three types, as it is said in "Self-Arisen": "There are three types of inner path: Maha, Anu, and Ati." These three, especially those with sharp faculties and intelligence, can be liberated in an instant, which is the special Dharma of the Secret Mantra section. From the established tenets above, it is extensively explained and recorded in books. Thus, the nature of the Dharma of countless kinds is also taught by the compassionate Buddhas, each with their four correct wisdoms, combining the faculties and abilities of immeasurable beings. Just as the nature of these views, practices, grounds, and paths are different, the meaning to be attained is not different. In particular, the Great Perfection and its essential heart essence cycle, with view, practice, ground, and result, are free from abandoning and attaining benefit and harm, and are originally self-aware Buddhas. It is the path of instant liberation, so it is not what others can manifest, but the practice realm of a few fortunate ones. As it is said in "Self-Arisen": "All sounds are awareness, and whatever sound appears, that is what it shows." To subdue the similar with the similar, some teach through the door of words, some teach through the door of dependent origination, some teach through the door of aspiration and entry, some teach through the door of generation, some teach through the door of both, some teach through the five enlightenments, some teach through the three samadhis, some teach through the Dharmadhatu and

Manifesting wisdom. The meaning of Dzogchen is not just a few things, only those with karma can manifest it. And the way it manifests is as follows: Some manifest awareness as emptiness, some manifest non-awareness as emptiness, some manifest non-awareness as inert matter, some manifest awareness as pure, some manifest the base as Dharmakaya, some manifest neither good nor evil, some manifest as practitioners, some manifest as non-practitioners. Thus, the incarnate body that manifests, regarding the meaning of the unsurpassed secret mantra, has not spoken everything. What has not been spoken will not become spoken. Even if it is spoken at some point, in a place where there are no Arhats, Pratyekabuddhas, Sutras of the Lesser Vehicle, and even the name of the Lesser Vehicle, the Unsurpassed Vehicle will be proclaimed. Therefore, keep it secret from those of low intelligence. Thus, regarding view, conduct, grounds, and paths, one should not hold them as one, but cherish the understanding of the countless categories of distinctions and summaries. Then there is the thirty-second question: Sukhavati and Abhirati, etc., are these realms established with form or not? If not established, then horses, elephants, birds, and lotus gardens on islands in the sea, and the bodhisattva lineages abiding on the ground and the path, and it is said that they are born from lotuses. If established, then it contradicts the great bliss pure land that is without form. So, the answer is: Because reality is not naturally established, it is said to be great bliss and purity. If you think these are coarse, why establish them as pure lands? Just because there are islands in the sea, lotus gardens, horses, elephants, birds, and bodhisattva lineages abiding on the ground, do you admit that their nature is coarse? Then, in a dream, various different appearances of objects appear, do you also admit that they are established in the same way when you wake up? Therefore, in the face of self-appearing purity, like clear bubbles, or like clouds in the sky, pure lands appear like illusions. Among them, Abhirati, etc., the horses, elephants, peacocks, kalavinkas, and bees in these naturally incarnated realms, although they appear as the forms of animals, are actually not ordinary, but bodhisattva lineages abiding on the ground, listening to the Dharma from their own masters, and proclaiming the sound of the Mahayana Dharma through gestures and postures. Among them, the common pure land, taking Sukhavati as an example, has inconceivable qualities.
