As a refutation, this is said. Generally, in the common vehicle, regarding the desires of gods and humans, the samadhi of bodhisattvas, and the nine ways of abiding in shamatha and vipassana, the three ways of examining vipassana, etc., there are various classifications. Similarly, in the generation stage and completion stage of secret mantra, there are stages of practice such as wavering, attainment, familiarity, and stability. In order to tame beings of different capacities, one should not cling to one extreme regarding the existence or non-existence of practice, as well as cutting off extreme views, converging, and establishing sects. Especially in the Great Perfection, there is the originally pure (Ka Dag,藏文:ཀ་དག་) which is liberation without practice, and the Tögal (Thögal,藏文:ཐོད་རྒལ་) which is liberation after practice, although two classifications are shown, the intentions of both are very special. In response to this letter, I will not proclaim secrets here. In reality, whether or not there is practice depends mainly on one's own wisdom and ability. Why is it that for those who have just entered the path and who contemplate with faith, although there is no practice with objects, if even the name of the practice of recollection that follows is not there, through the power of the practice of manifest awareness, what is the difference between that and ordinary people? Who established the name of practice? It is not just staying on rational speculation, but actually manifesting as it is, and through unfailing recollection, when the mind is as pure as space, it is impossible to have the two concepts of practice and non-practice. Therefore, the name of attaining freedom in the kingdom of the intention of Samantabhadra is given. As it is said, in the Kunjed Gyalpo (ཀུན་བྱེད་རྒྱལ་པོ, All-Creating King) it says: "If there is practice, one will fall into the lower vehicle; if there is no practice, one will become a non-conceptual Buddha; or one will become an ordinary being. Self-born wisdom abides in itself, merely recognizing one's own nature, oneself illuminating oneself, there is no need to grasp and practice with conceptual thought. For people of medium capacity, only recollection is needed; when the Dharmakaya manifests, recollection will also disappear. Without practice, one will never be separated; practice and non-practice are actually no different. Use the doubt of practice to cut off (doubt)." The key points said in this way, everyone should experience and realize, even those who understand are not many, so pay attention to this letter. Then the seventeenth question, if the Tathagatagarbha pervades all beings, then the Buddha's Dharmakaya and wisdom, etc., should be complete when beings are beings, and merits and activities should also be so. Is it realization or non-realization? If realized, the nature of mind is great.

There is no past. There is no increase or decrease in the three times of past, present, and future. As an answer to the question, it is declared thus: All sentient beings are Buddhas themselves. However, they are obscured by sudden stains. As it is said, therefore, for sentient beings, body and wisdom cannot be perfected. Why is that? Because the fruit has not been manifested through the three of perfection, maturation, and purification. Like a lamp inside a vase, although there is a basis for inner light to appear, the outer light does not appear. That is also because ignorance, afflictions, and the obscuration of knowledge cover it like an outer shell, this principle is very clearly explained with nine similes in the Ratnagotravibhāga. For example, the person dwelling in the womb of an evil woman, although the energy of the body is complete, and the time for the ripening of karma arrives, even if he becomes the lord of all, who would call him a king at that time? Therefore, in order to make the nature of awareness, the gateway for both samsara and nirvana to arise, in the time of ignorance, karma, and afflictions, it appears as the respective realms of the six paths. When awareness arises and the two accumulations are complete, what else could it be other than Buddhahood? If it is said that there is no increase or decrease in realization and non-realization, then just as fire arises from iron or kindling wood, would you say that the cause itself is fire? Because the color is red, the touch is hot, and the nature is the ability to burn, all are complete in the two substances, so the argument must be newly established. Then there is the eighteenth question, do the first Buddha and the first appearance exist or not? If they do not exist, then the first Buddha is contradictory. If they exist, then for him, cause and effect and the collection produce results, and who is the first to generate Bodhicitta? If there is no certainty in that regard, without generating Bodhicitta, and without results, without relying on the two accumulations path, what kind of Buddha is that? As an answer to the question, it is said thus: The first Buddha, who else could it be other than the primordial protector? He did not rely on the path, the way of manifesting perfect enlightenment will be discussed below. Here is the meaning of the question about the totality of things, from the primordial basis, as the basis appears, from the energy of appearance, the realm of sentient beings, although there is no cause for confusion, but like a dream, in order to tame the confused ones, the five Buddha families are like a great snow mountain lake. From the gap of the mudra there, the upper part where the lotus is born, twenty
