Just as distinguishing with "non-existence," dividing mind and mind-essence into two, summarizing the nature of the eight consciousnesses, seven consciousnesses, or six consciousnesses as what should be abandoned, and realizing the pure nature of mind-essence as what should be practiced, is for the sake of practicing the path. Then, are these two the same? Answer: The difference is great, as it is said in the "Six Spaces": "Amazing, great Bodhisattva! Awareness and the mind-essence arising from awareness are beyond all defilements and discriminations. In short, it is all the causes and results beyond suffering, and it is the realm practiced by those who see awareness for themselves. The mind that clings to its own characteristics is all the imputed phenomena that appear in this way, all that appears as existing, all that appears as non-existing, as well as all that appears as appearance, fame, seeing, meditation, and conduct, clinging, discrimination, and afflictions, etc., are all that appears as objects of thought. In short, all the phenomena of samsara are the mind that clings to its own characteristics, and it is the manifestation of the respective karmas of the six types of beings." Therefore, although the mind is the same in the nature of what should be abandoned, awareness and the mind-essence arising from awareness, and the mind that clings to its own characteristics, exist with differences in terms of the nature of phenomena appearing in different ways. Especially here, the mind is not mixed, and awareness is the key of direct perception, which is a superior dharma. After introducing it in this way, the path of direct perception of luminosity, as well as the way of practicing and its parts, are completely explained. Those fortunate ones also contemplate the meaning of the Heart Essence of Instructions in extremely secluded places such as charnel grounds, islands, and empty valleys. The four visions arise gradually, or it is also possible that they are perfected simultaneously, but it is only briefly mentioned. As in the former case, the superior faculties take three years, the intermediate five years, and the inferior seven years, and the appearance with substance separates from luminosity, and one becomes enlightened in the Akanishta pure land of self-appearing meaning. Because this pure land is not recognized by ordinary people, it is said in the supreme tenets that it is also beyond the three realms, and one becomes enlightened from the Akanishta pure land. If asked, where is that Buddha? Just as it is not said where the dream itself went, but waking up is here, it is there where all obscurations are separated and merged into the indivisibility of the expanse and wisdom.

It is said that it is also the clear light of Dharma nature, like the body of a vase of a young boy, without any distinction between body and realm. The Dharmic entity is outwardly manifest, and it is known that the spontaneously accomplished compassionate manifestation is also named as such. As stated in the tantra: The primordial Buddha, Samantabhadra, possesses names and marks. When the teacher's light transforms, he abides in a mass of empty and clear light. The wisdom of the mind is unobstructed and clear. It is said. Here, the moment of awareness of directly observing the clear light is the way in which the three minds of samsara, the Alaya, are reversed. The essence of wisdom is the way in which contemplation is fulfilled. The essence of the lower is the way in which it is integrated into the upper. These three are considered to be the views of the great omniscient one. The first point is that it is consistent with the common Mahayana and Sutra, and it is explained with the support of the scriptures of one's own lineage, and with the analogy of the practice lineage as a metaphor. The former is: In the Ratnakuta Sutra, it is said: Tranquil wisdom, the secret of the Tathagata's mind, is also separate from mind, intellect, and consciousness, and does not abandon the key point of Samadhi. This is the inconceivable secret of the Tathagata's mind. As it is said, the way in which the minds and mental factors of the three realms, together with the habits of the Alaya, are reversed by the one definite path of true Samadhi that transcends the world is: By directly observing the mind of the dependent Alaya consciousness, as well as the afflicted mind, consciousness, and the five sense consciousnesses, in the Samadhi without these, all internal conceptualizations are instantly purified, and the mind of desire is reversed. As others say, in the nature that appears like a mirror, because there is no antidote to the grasping of appearance, the mind of the form aggregate is reversed. The non-conceptual mind that is focused on one point of mindfulness, for the weak wisdom in the nature of Dharma, because there is no such mind, the mind of the formless aggregate is reversed, so the mind of the three realms is pacified. However, the Alaya is not an unmarked state that does not purify clear light. Here, because it purifies clear light and awareness, the Alaya is reversed. The Alaya consciousness is merely light, and the part that abides without being completely separated, because it is not recognized as the essence of self-awareness, here, because it is not realized as self-born wisdom, the clear light is reversed, free from elaboration. The five sense consciousnesses follow external objects, here, because of the appearance of clear light, the eye consciousness no longer grasps external objects as ordinary.
