It is only entering, but apart from that, it is impossible to be liberated by artificial modifications and adulterations, and it is impossible to avoid errors and getting lost. For example, it is like getting off a horse and riding a donkey. If any small-minded person is afraid of the profound meaning of the supreme secret, then the great accomplished master Saraha also said: The thoroughly decisive mind is like the sky, because there is nothing to meditate on, so do not take it to heart. For ordinary awareness, the original self-nature, do not defile it with artificial objects, because the self-nature pure mind does not need modification. Do not grasp, do not let go, let it sleep naturally. If you cannot realize it, there is nothing to meditate on in your mind. For the realized one, there is no meditator and no object of meditation. Just as the sky does not take the sky as an object, in the same way, emptiness cannot meditate on emptiness. Non-dual awareness is like water and milk, all kinds of tastes merge into one, great bliss is continuous. In this way, it is shown that awareness is free from elaboration from the beginning, and if artificial modifications are made with objects such as generation stage, completion stage, recitation, and meditation, it will not be able to transcend conceptual thoughts and will lead to errors. As he himself said: Some are tormented by empowerment, some recite "Hum (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽)! Phat (藏文:ཕཊ,梵文天城体:फट्,梵文罗马拟音:phaṭ,汉语字面意思:啪)!" and count rosaries, some eat feces, urine, blood, semen, and meat, some practice the yoga of channels and winds and are confused. Therefore, based on the nature of reality that is free from thoughts and conceptualizations and transcends artificial creations, continuously, without letting the special characteristics and reality of this unsurpassed path fall into conceptual thoughts, but directly seeing the wisdom of manifest luminosity. That is to say, on the path, it is necessary to purify the defilements and heavy aggregates of the three doors, as well as the flowing experiences, and the coarse mind of wind, so the order of the four visions is shown. When these all return to self-purification, the signs of the natural completion of the lower grounds and paths will appear. Because the upper is complete, the lower naturally becomes complete, so it is thought that Dzogchen does not need to be practiced and advanced on one ground. One ground is the ground of spontaneously accomplished awareness, as the Kunjed Gyalpo says: Without changing, without practicing, awareness is naturally complete. That is to say, as far as one person's entry into the path is concerned, after the completion of the senses, first of all, one must have faith in the common preliminary practices, the teachings of the lower vehicle, and then one can enter the higher realm.

From becoming the basis, having completed the unparalleled preliminary practices, one directly introduces the stainless awareness, the great expanse, which is unmingled with mind. So, what is the difference between mind and awareness? In the Rangshar it says: "The example of mind and awareness is like water and bubbles." Awareness is like clear water, residing in the center of the heart, and its root is the characteristic of mind, like a bubble in water, entering the root cavity, generated by the action of wind, and thus manifesting various phenomena. So, are water and bubbles not two different substances, and therefore of an indistinguishable nature? No, because mind follows the presence or absence of awareness, while awareness does not change with the presence or absence of mind, so awareness pervades mind, but mind does not pervade awareness. Therefore, if awareness is not controlled by mind, then mind is controlled by awareness. For example, just as waves cannot arise from a clear spring, if the eye of awareness is not distorted, then the thoughts of the mind will not waver. If one does not understand this point, those Dzogchen practitioners who want to become Buddhas in their minds are very foolish. Therefore, in the Condensed Meaning Tantra it says: "Foolish people who do not see the definitive meaning, say that there is no Dharma other than mind. Therefore, foolish people, how wrong is your wisdom! Foolish practitioners, destroyed by meditating on darkness. Whatever you think of, study this Dharma of mind." Thus it is said. All ignorant and deluded beings say that the Dharmakaya itself is mind. Therefore, they do not understand the meaning of the words, and few can understand the definitive meaning from the name. Therefore, they cannot realize the nature of mind. Wanting to become a Buddha from the mind is like a widow marrying her son. Thus it is said. Therefore, all the minds and fifty-one mental factors of the three realms are merely labels, because in the Two Truths it is also said: "Mind and mental factors are of the three realms, thoughts with false characteristics." Thus it is said. Therefore, if one mistakes ignorance for mind and awareness for the name of wisdom, then one is very far from the state of liberation. Even in the great treatises such as Madhyamaka, which take mind as the path to Buddhahood, in the characteristics of self-emptiness and other-emptiness, they do not say outer emptiness and inner emptiness, but rather outer emptinessness and inner emptinessness, there is the word "-ness."
