Having sat in the circle, the four visions are perfected by contemplating the meaning-samadhi mandala of generation and recitation of peaceful and wrathful deities with elaboration, and the dharmata-manifestation meaning mandala of completion stage without elaboration, thereby manifestly accomplishing the youthful vase body mandala. As it says in Rangshar: "The mandala is considered to be of three types: the great self-nature mandala, the great root mandala, and the three image mandalas are shown." Second, how to bestow the empowerment, the nature of empowerment is: from the beginning, the nature of the four vajras universally abides in the realm of beings, as it says in the tantra: "If the supreme empowerment is not within oneself, how can it be obtained by bestowal? Even if chaff and grains are empowered, there is no manifestation of fruit in them." Therefore, if the collections of the guru's instructions, symbols, methods, and interdependence are not awakened, one will not be liberated. Therefore, first bestowing the four ripening empowerments is the correct basis of the path, and its certainty is from the Prasangika: "The ritual of empowerment is explained, outer and inner and secret, and secret most complete, with four sequences, in order to purify the four, body, speech, mind, and heart of beings, empowerment also with four, ripens those with fortune. With elaboration and without elaboration, and exceedingly without elaboration, likewise utterly without elaboration, with four kinds of distinctions, ripens the faithful's own continuum."
