In the commentary, it says that by destroying the demon of the Lord of Death, he extended his life by two months. As it is said, they believe that there were two more months on top of that. In the Mahayana Nirvana Sutra, it says, "In this time of a hundred years, at eighty years old, the sign of Nirvana, for the sake of you, Brahmin, I have extended it by two years, increasing diligence." Thus, it is shown as eighty-two years old, although the calculation methods are different, it is believed that the meaning of the sutras is consistent. In the "Treasury of Precious Tenets," it says that the teacher Bhāviveka calculated the actual years as eighty, and adding the intercalary month, it is considered to be eighty-two years old, which is good. Like this, through wisdom, one can discern, therefore, for the years of the liberation biographies manifested for the sake of taming beings, such as the "Padma Kathang," it is also appropriate to establish a view without contradiction. At that time, the relics were divided into eight parts. In the Vinaya Sutra, it says, "Among the eight brevo of relics of the five-eyed one, seven are obtained for the offerings of the people of Jambudvipa. One brevo of that supreme being is offered by the Naga king of the city of Melodious Sound." It also says, "Among the four teeth of that supreme being, one is offered by the three roots, the god realm, and the world. The second is in the city of Delightful Word Holders. The third is in the land of the Kalinga king. The fourth tooth of that supreme being is offered by the Naga king of the city of Melodious Sound. King Ashoka, residing in the place of the Shakya clan, extensively built seven stupas. By its power, in this earth, may the objects of aspiration be manifestly adorned. Like this, the relics of the one with eyes, were greatly revered and offered by the gods, nagas, and human rulers, as well as non-humans and the masters of yakshas." That is to say, the relics, together with the four brevo, became stupas in their respective lands. In particular, the seven parts of Jambudvipa were motivated by the past aspirations and miraculous powers of King Ashoka, the son of the Shakya clan, and on the plains of Jambudvipa and the continents, stupas were built equal to the number of a handful of sand, namely the Litsa Ta stupas, one hundred thousand, or as ordinary people say, one hundred trillion. The historical classification of that is from the past.

Once, when the Blessed One was going for alms in Shravasti, a woman offered rice porridge. One of her children was playing among the children, and upon seeing the Buddha, he developed faith and took a handful of sand. A child named Zla'o stood on the back of someone who was squatting and offered the sand. The Teacher also accepted it from the bottom of the bowl. The mother scolded the child for not doing so, but the Blessed One said, "Do not scold this child. He has pure faith in me and will gain great merit." After saying this, the Blessed One had Ananda count the grains of sand, and the total came to one billion grains. The Blessed One said, "Ananda, two hundred years after my Nirvana, in a city called Flower City, there will be a king named Ashoka. He will build a stupa with the relics of the Tathagata as its core in one night. The child who is squatting will be reborn as the Yaksha Wood Cart and will become a helper in building the stupa." Thus, the Blessed One prophesied. Two hundred years after the passing of the Teacher, that child was born as King Ashoka. He enacted new laws, placing some in happiness, like gods; others were used for warfare and strife, like Asuras; and still others were subjected to punishment, like beings in hell. At that time, the king possessed the conduct of all six realms. Then, a Bhikshu from Gold Island went to the king's territory. He found an ornament that the king's consort wore while bathing, which had been carried away by a crow. He took it to the market and asked who it belonged to. He was accused of stealing and sentenced. The king said, "I have never killed a Bhikshu like this before. Boil him to death in hot butter." The ministers boiled him for three days, but he did not die; instead, he looked radiant. The king asked him who he was, and the Bhikshu replied, "I have an Arhat teacher, and I have attained stream-entry, so fire cannot harm me." The king, hearing this, developed faith and asked the Bhikshu to teach him the Dharma. The king asked, "If committing sins by sentencing others, is there a way to confess?" The Bhikshu said, "I do not know the method; I need to ask my teacher." So, the Arhat was invited. The Arhat said, "King, you can build a stupa with the relics of the Tathagata as its core in one night.
