From the fourteenth level onwards, it is only a matter of examining them in sequence. Why is that? Generally speaking, the near path of the Secret Mantra Vajrayana is simply to focus on the key points of the three, namely, the channels, bindus, and winds. Among these, there are two methods: the active, elaborate method and the effortless, non-elaborate method. The former involves the coarse channels and winds through the path of effort, and in particular, the profound path of the third empowerment, which takes the conventional bindu as the path. Therefore, it involves searching for a consort, enticing, relying, searching for the channels, grasping, uniting, actually descending the bindu, grasping, reversing, spreading, mixing with the wind, repeatedly practicing in the nature of reality, then examining the experience, and relying on the experience of reversing body and mind, and so on. The key instruction for this is to grasp the bindu during the time of action wind, and during the time of wisdom, to reverse the bindu and implant the channels, that is, to spread them. Here, the latter, the path of non-elaboration, takes the very profound clear light manifest bindu as the path, restraining through posture and gaze. In the beginning, by meditating on the bindu emptiness like a flickering lamp, from the appearance of clear light being used in the mixing of day and night, the skill is gradually perfected. That perfection comes from knowing the location of the inner vajra body and the merit of practicing it. Therefore, here, the basis for the path of the three kayas appearing in the visions is the pure essence in the center of the heart, relying on the clear essence, the light channels connected to clear light, appearing as if rays of light are radiating to all the subtle channels from the point of reliance. Therefore, the Tathagatagarbha is said to pervade all. In that way, although the unlimited manifestations of essence, nature, and compassion exist in their own nature, the aspect of essence emptiness is obscured by the alaya and the eight consciousnesses, the aspect of nature appearing as five lights is obscured by the mass of flesh and blood, and compassion, as the agent of manifestation, is obscured by karma and habitual tendencies. If a diligent individual becomes accustomed to the four visions to a certain extent, they will exist as they do now, and in the bardo, they will temporarily appear as pure self-manifestations. Now, like being completely enveloped by a garuda egg, they are obscured by all that has just been said, like a lion with perfected strength. In the very bodies of all sentient beings, there is pure wisdom.

Manifestation abides. Vast manifestation could not be achieved, like the obstructions of a womb and an egg. Although obscured by non-manifestation, it arises as one's own power becomes complete. As soon as this body of conceptual thought appears, it will encounter its own manifest realm. Thus it is said. Therefore, during samsara, the very essence of the Sugata is obscured by an ordinary body, hence called 'embodied.' Obscured by the net of the eight consciousnesses, hence called 'sentient being.' Obscured by the proximity of karma and habitual tendencies, hence called 'having obscurations.' Obscured by the nature of ignorance, hence called 'darkened.' Thus, it is designated by names such as these. Such a state of clear light, hidden in all the lower tantras, should be brought forth and self-recognized. Fourth, there are two ways to practice through the path: showing the empowerment that ripens as the gate of entry, and showing the key points of the path of essence that liberates. The first has four aspects: the basis for entering empowerment, the actual path of empowerment, the ripening of the ultimate fruit, and the certainty of those vows. The first also has four aspects: the qualities of the master who empowers, the nature of the disciple to be empowered, and the activity of empowerment, which is how the common practices are bestowed. The first is: From the *Uttaratantra*: The great Vajradhara master will explain the order in detail. The master who possesses all the qualities is the field, the source of all virtues, the basis for holding complete enlightenment. Thus, one should be complete with all the qualities befitting a master and be free from all faults. In particular, one should possess six qualities: having completely abandoned worldly dharmas, having few desires and being content, being skilled in practice and having experience, being skilled in the words and meanings of the tantras and diligent in practice, being skilled in the meaning of the view and having complete power, and having great compassion and being happy to give. If one is like this, it is sufficient. This is one who teaches the supreme vehicle, enhances practice, and removes obstacles on the bhumis and paths. In the world, one who is arrogant with pride, like a king, and who boasts of lineage, clan, and so on as the qualities of a virtuous friend is a fool. One who has heard a little but avoids the true meaning and does not contemplate the meaning of the profound secret mantras, and who speaks rudely to everyone, and so on, is the behavior of a false spiritual friend. Only after one has matured oneself can one liberate the continuum of others.
