Therefore, placing body and speech on the essential points is called "body and speech united." Fourth, explaining the nature of self-illumination, which transcends sound, words, and self-nature, does not abide at the edge of accomplishment, and is a special accomplishment. Since the nature is pure in the absence of objects, the Dharma nature, which is pure from the beginning, arises endlessly. The characteristic is non-intellectual, and it is free from the agitation and elaboration of conventionality. There are three divisions: speaking of the method of chasing away delusion; speaking of the method of reversing the four delusions; and speaking of the bindu settling into its own essential point. The first is: The essence is that the seed of delusion, ignorance, lays the foundation for all of samsara. Therefore, chasing it back to itself, ignorance is cut off from the root. One goes to the basis of the first wisdom, and from then on there is no turning back. The nature is that, since it appears as different, tracing back from causes and conditions, the attachment to objects is cut off, thereby exhausting the dependence on wandering in samsara. This is called "the basis is exhausted, primordially pure." The characteristic is that, since delusion is recognized, the warmth of non-deluded wisdom is attained. That is, placing delusion on its own, thereby recognizing the Dharma nature of non-delusion, its essence is that it has never experienced delusion from the beginning, so there is no name for ignorance. Now, because delusion is known, the source of bad karma is lost. In the future, delusion is impossible, so there is no name for good or bad karma. The nature is that, in non-duality, samsara and nirvana, the basis of wisdom is the same, so delusion is purified in its own place. The characteristic is that there is no cause for delusion, so the calculation of delusion and non-delusion is cut off, thereby emptying the three realms, the light encircles the basis of delusion, thereby cutting off the cycle of delusion, its essence is: Since the basis for falling into samsara is empty, the basis that cannot be found through effort is adjusted. The nature transcends calculation, so there is no accomplishment in either delusion or liberation. The characteristic is that there is no duality, so it is free from the mind of delusion and non-delusion. The bindu settling into its own essential point is: The essence is that, since it is free from elaboration, there is no one or many. The nature is that, since there is no many, it transcends names and words. The characteristic is that, since it is introduced, there is certainty and conviction. There are two divisions: the oral transmission and the explanatory transmission. The essence of the oral transmission is that it is very close because it is uninterrupted from one to another. The nature is that, since it is connected to the ear faculty, it is not interrupted by others. The characteristic is that there is no error, so it has the confidence of faith. The divisions are the literal and the non-literal oral

The pith instructions on the meaning of the Dharmata of the Na transmission. The essence of the Explanatory Tantra is that since the Dharmata, which is free from activity and effort, has no cause, there is no basis for reverting to samsara. The nature is luminosity, and one knows the Dharmata of the five wisdoms, which are free from defilements. Since the characteristics transcend conceptual analysis, one abides in the realm of constant adornment in the intention of the three kayas and five wisdoms. There are four divisions: the outer circle, the inner circle, the secret circle, and the utterly secret, unsurpassed circle. As it says in the Great Teacher's *Lamp Illuminating the Garland*: The outer circle is like the body, extensively teaching terminology; the inner circle is like the eye, what is seen is the Dharma of symbols; the secret circle is like the heart, the Dharma of essence that remembers; this is like a person with a complete body. Thus, the respective natures are shown to be places of trust, and the utterly secret, unsurpassed is especially praised. First, the essence of the outer circle is that since afflictions cannot be abandoned, the five poisons are taken as the path; since there is no activity in the nature, whatever appears is an adornment of the Dharmata; since there are no errors in the characteristics, emptiness is not separated anywhere. The essence of the inner circle is that since there are no characteristics of form, the Dharmata is without bias; since there is no coming and going in the nature, it is the wisdom that abides eternally. The characteristics, from the perspective of taking root, arise like a root; from the perspective of gathering, like a trunk; from the perspective of flourishing, like branches; from the perspective of clarity, like a flower; from the perspective of ripening, like a fruit. The essence of the secret circle is that introducing the Dharmata and attaining realization are simultaneous, so there is no need to rely on the pretense of hearing, contemplating, and meditating; since the nature of ceasing breath and attaining Buddhahood are simultaneous, there is no need to rely on effort; the characteristic is that attaining Buddhahood and perfecting the power of compassion are simultaneous, so there is no need to rely on the accumulation of the two accumulations. The essence of the secret, unsurpassed circle is that since it does not rely on words and examples, it does not rely on the knowable objects of conceptual analysis; since the nature is seen directly, it does not abide in the views of mental speculation; since the four visions reach their limit, the result, the three kayas and five wisdoms, does not need to be expected, and in order to unite with the primordially pure realm of inner clarity in this very life, it is exceedingly excellent. Thus, the three sections of the Great Perfection pith instructions are gathered into the clear expanse.
