May the precious teachings of the Victorious Ones flourish and spread, and through its power, may all sentient beings be far removed from disease, weapons, famine, war, and so on, and may they conclude with the aspiration for extreme happiness and well-being. In all directions, times, and places, from "etc." to "May the benefit of self and others be spontaneously accomplished." Thus, it is said. So, what is the necessity of explaining the meaning of the aspiration? It is to prevent those who do not truly understand the meaning of the words from misunderstanding the aspiration due to inverted understanding. The second part has three points: others guiding the aspiration, the number of times the aspiration is recited, and the admonition that in all rituals and aspirations, intention and thought are most important. The first point is: As it says in the scriptures, "Whatever scriptures, etc., and whatever else is appropriate, should be combined with the occasion to recite the aspiration in detail or in brief." As explicitly instructed in the scriptures, at the end, widely recite the aspiration. As it says in the Avatamsaka Sutra, "Thereafter, the Bodhisattva Samantabhadra, in kalpas and kalpas, traversed countless worlds, adding in one Buddha-field countless inexpressible and inexpressible extremely fine dust particles of Buddha-lands, and for the sake of manifestation, made aspirations in verses: All beings in the realm of Dharma, the realm of space, in the ten directions." etc. The so-called "King of Aspirations, Samantabhadra's Conduct," which shines like the sun and moon in the land of snow, is an extremely extraordinary aspiration. The reason is, as it says in our own scriptures, "Even a single instance of generating faith." etc. Also, as the reincarnation of the great translator Vairotsana, Yakde Panchen, a yogi said to him, "The government's Ra Kong Dorje has performed the Gongtang Metok offering about ten times, and everyone says that this is very meritorious." Panchen said, "Compared to such merit, I recite the Samantabhadra's Conduct once and then sleep, which is more meritorious and easier." As it is said, this special aspiration that is easy to do and has great meaning, and in order to achieve Bodhi, the convenient vehicle, the convenient path, the convenient entry, etc., Acharya Maitreya, when studying the conduct of a Bodhisattva, draped the upper garment over his shoulders three times during the day and three times at night, and knelt.

Planting the right knee on the ground and planting it in an immeasurable way is known as the Maitreya's aspiration. And the aspirations of the Dzogchen Tantra taken out by Rigdzin Gödem from the rocky mountain piled with poisonous snakes, etc., should be accomplished as much as possible. Second, all these aspirations are not for the sake of one's own peace and happiness alone, but are planted with a vast and boundless mind that does not limit time and kalpas. As it is said in the Bhadracarya-pranidhana, "As far as the sky reaches, as far as beings reach, my vows will reach," as explained in the verses. Some people think that there is no time to rely on just making aspirations, and they fall into conceptual thoughts. That is not right. Due to the power of the completely pure Dharmadhatu, and the blessings of the great compassion of the Buddhas, and the power of the seeds of pure habits of the beings to be tamed, even without reliance, long-term aspirations can eventually be fulfilled. For example, the aspiration of the sage is fulfilled, and the aspirations made in the future era. Even after the sage has died for a long time, the aspiration can be fulfilled, just like there is no need for reliance. Third, in general, for all virtuous dharmas, the essential core that must not be contaminated by co-emergent ignorance is mindfulness and awareness, so it is very important. Especially the path of generation and completion in general, and in particular, in cases such as the transference for the deceased, etc., without any objects, etc. Do not let it be controlled by distracted thoughts and inversions contaminated by afflictions, and abandonment of non-virtue. From beginning to end, it is very important to have a definite understanding of the direct meaning, and to have a clear object and an undistracted mind. Gyalwa Yang Gonpa said: In the state of clear light, seeing the beings of the bardo directly, and especially how the bardo phenomena of the previous life occurred, thinking in his heart, he said this: If the seven-day ritual is pure, the object is clear, and there is no distraction, one will feel happy and know clearly. One wants to stay, and wisdom will come naturally. If the mind is distracted and the ritual is impure, one will feel the confusion of knowledge, be at a loss, be driven by fear, and leave involuntarily. Adding wrathful practices to the seven-day ritual is not beneficial.
