Because it is said (in the sutra): "I diligently practice emptiness, even if I set up a mandala, it is not perfect, but instead, I look downwards and fall." Therefore, it should be known that reciting the confession from the Sutra of the Three Heaps at this time is extremely appropriate. Fourth, making aspirations has two parts: the actual teaching and the extensive explanation. First, if we summarize the meaning, there are two: aspirations related to confession, and aspirations for the benefit of oneself and all other beings. The first is: the assembled retinue holds flowers in their hands, makes mudras and gestures, and circles the mandala while reciting from "Emaho! The deities of the pure self-manifesting mandala!" to "May all transgressions and obscurations be purified!"

Wishing to attain the levels of the four Vidyadharas, including the Rigdzin. The third shloka is a prayer that all those connected to me and all those to be tamed will transcend the special stages of the mantra path, attain the level of the Wisdom Guru, and never regress. Secondly, Bodhisattvas who abide in the realm of truth, having made the three types of discipline the foundation for their qualities, traverse the five paths and ten bhumis of the union of the two truths. The impurities to be abandoned are like a person dwelling in the womb of an evil woman from the seventh bhumi downwards; the pure three bhumis are like gold dwelling in the midst of mud, as explained in the Uttaratantra; and the result of abandonment is the Buddha with two purities. The aspiration for these is that although these Bodhisattvas do not have manifest afflictive obscurations, they do have subtle cognitive obscurations. Having destroyed these with the antidote of Vajra-like Samadhi, like a drawn bow, they gradually perfect the ten bhumis in the state of non-elaboration, and finally reach the ultimate of the causal vehicle, the bhumi of Samantaprabha. Thus, the shloka says, "Abiding in the great realm of truth..." Thirdly, the Pratyekabuddhas, on top of realizing the selflessness of the individual of the Shravakas, realize that even the subtlest particles of their own apprehended objects are without inherent existence. Through the twelve links of dependent origination, divided into the rhinoceros-like, the small Sangha practice, and the great Sangha practice, accumulating merit from a hundred great kalpas to fifteen lifetimes, they know that they do not have the fortune to attain enlightenment through that basis. Therefore, they become skilled in studying and contemplating the Shravaka Pitaka, and based on making three kinds of aspirations, in the next life they are born in a world without Buddhas or Shravakas. As soon as they see bones in a cemetery, they immediately develop aversion. "Alas, where did these bones come from? They came from old age and death. Where did old age and death come from?" Thus, after examining dependent origination in the forward order, they think, "How can I be liberated from this?" From this, ignorance ceases, and up to old age and death also cease, thus cutting off the root of the reverse order of dependent origination. The realizations of the path, such as the application path, arise spontaneously in their being, and at the end of the path of meditation, they manifest the two wisdoms of the knowledge of exhaustion and the knowledge of non-arising, and thus attain Arhatship. By meditating in the forward and reverse order, ultimately

May we aspire to realize the Buddhahood that exists alone like a rhinoceros horn or dwells in a group like a parrot. We should also recite the verses such as the twelve links of dependent origination. Those who do not understand this, seeing "parrot" and "rhinoceros horn," mistakenly think that it is aspiring to be reborn as an animal, which is a great mistake. There is no need to aspire to be reborn in the lower realms such as animals, because each person, through the results of the coarse actions of this degenerate age, will fall into them without effort. Why become a Pratyekabuddha? There are about four different explanations for this, but because they do not generate the mind for the sake of many sentient beings like Bodhisattvas, but only seek liberation for themselves, it is reasonable to call them that. The fourth is that the Shravakas enter the path of the Four Noble Truths, meditate on the selflessness of the person, cut the stream of samsara, and attain the state of Arhat. As the noble Vasubandhu said, "Those who possess discipline, learning, and thought should diligently practice meditation." Thus, based on the Pratimoksha vows, they become skilled in the five aggregates, twelve ayatanas, eighteen dhatus, twelve links of dependent origination, what is and is not, and mainly enter the path that expounds the Four Noble Truths, starting with the mindfulness of the small accumulation path, up to the path of meditation. Thereafter, as he said, "Knowing cessation and non-arising is called enlightenment." Thus, they realize the Arhat fruit of the two wisdoms. Thus, when the Arhats of the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas pass away without remainder and abide in the realm of cessation, their own tradition believes that they are constant and unmoving. However, according to the Mahayana, the mind merges into quiescence for as long as the accumulations were previously gathered, but after that, in pure lands such as Sukhavati, they take birth in the lotus womb, and due to the power of the habitual tendencies of ignorance and subtle obscurations of knowledge, the lotus remains closed for seven years. At this time, by the power of the compassion of the Buddhas of that realm, the lotus opens, and they are awakened from that samadhi. They develop joy in entering the Mahayana, generate the mind of enlightenment, and practice the path, attaining Buddhahood in that very lifetime, as explained in the Lankavatara Sutra and the White Lotus Sutra. Aspiring to attain the fruit, that is, the Shravakas.
