One should not speak. If others have faults, who would speak of them? Likewise, I also have faults, like a fox and a woman. It is also said: Even if I possess perfect qualities, I should not despise others, but with a mind like refined butter, hide all virtues within. As it is said, it is not influenced by the 'na' of Nanti's self-radiance, the unprophesied hatred. Like this, refuting other teachings with the shell of sectarianism, and after not primarily exalting the pure lineage of one's own side, if faults are not pointed out, and if shortcomings are not eradicated from the root, one cannot distinguish between Dharma and non-Dharma, nor understand what to accept and reject. Therefore, through correct hearing, one can cut off those words that cling to righteousness and bias. As the sutra says: Monks or wise ones, like gold that is refined, cut, and polished, carefully examine my teachings, and then accept them, not just out of respect. As it is said, do not mix darkness and partiality together, but discern through scripture and reason, so that one will not be tainted by faults, and one will see virtues manifest, and faults will naturally disappear, which is crucial and also the characteristic of treatises. As it is said in the Commentary on Reasoning: One should explain with meanings that include shared intentions, with refutations and answers, with connections, and with word meanings. As it is said, it can tame the enemies of afflictions and save from the state of evil destinies, that is, both taming and saving. It possesses the three characteristics of the inner path and is free from the six evils of the outer path, thus it is temporarily happy, and through honesty, certainty, concealment, and revelation, it achieves ultimate liberation, possessing great meaning. Like this, those who are blinded by the ignorance of unknowing, or who deny based merely on superficial appearances, and those who close the eyes of wisdom, there is no way to prevent them from being swayed by clarity and becoming accomplices or reproachers. Beings are tormented by their own karma, and even see Buddhas and Bodhisattvas as heretics, such as Serkya and others. The abbot, disciples, and Dharma are likened to the Bon religion of the time and evil ministers. Similarly, for example, from the position below the dominion of the King of Gods.
