For the sake of... distorting tantras, twisting scriptures, and concealing instructions. In such circumstances, the light of the wisdom of the compassion of the Buddhas shines upon the commentator, so that what is distorted is corrected, what is twisted is straightened, and what is concealed is revealed, thus enabling explanation. As stated in the Compendium: "To speak with explanation and wisdom combined, bringing supreme and liberating joy, and thereby obtaining results. All these are the power of the sons of the Tathagatas." Therefore, the reason for blessing and valuing the commentaries is also the same. Therefore, one must explain by avoiding the four faults. Vajrashri said: "If one does not know how to eliminate the obstacles of reasoning and doubt, one commits the fault of a stammering wise person; if one does not know how to combine discordant words and meanings, one commits the fault of the blind touching an elephant; if one does not know how to combine the order of realization, one commits the fault of nectar losing its taste; if one does not know how to combine the order of before and after, one commits the fault of an explanation that is like a jewel losing its brilliance." Thus it is said. The second section explains the common of the common, which is divided into two: postures and ornaments. First, wrathful deities generally possess the nine moods of dance, which can be further divided into three: bodily posture, speech posture, and mind posture. First, from the Great Perfection Heart Essence, the Thigle Rigdzin Deshek Kundu (Drop of Awareness Holders, Assembly of Sugatas): "Graceful, heroic, and terrifying." Therefore, graceful refers to the body adorned with marks and signs, pleasing to the eye, to tame sentient beings with attachment; heroic refers to the body's majesty and blessing upon the accumulation of the four maras and other particularly malicious beings, to tame sentient beings with hatred; terrifying refers to the many frightening postures such as bared fangs and furrowed brows, to tame sentient beings with ignorance. Second, from the continuation of the previous: "Laughing, scolding, and showing terror." Therefore, laughing refers to the extremely joyful and attached sounds of haha, etc., to tame sentient beings with attachment; scolding refers to the extremely fierce sounds of hum hum and phat phat, etc., the rising of violent roars, to tame sentient beings with hatred. Showing terror refers to all those sounds in order to destroy self-grasping...

Appearing as the sound of the mantra of emptiness and no birth, it tames the ignorant beings to be subdued. Third, continuing from the previous, as it says, "Compassion, ferocity, and peace, etc." Compassion is: with the supreme loving heart that wishes to take care of sentient beings, it tames the attached beings to be subdued. Ferocity is: from the state of great love, arising with an angry heart, it tames the hateful beings to be subdued. Peace is: from the state of indivisible awareness and emptiness, it tames the ignorant beings who possess wrong views. Second, regarding the ornaments of attire, there are two: the eight ornaments of the charnel ground and the eight ornaments of glory. The first has three: three garments to wear, two ornaments to put on, and three substances to smear, totaling eight. First, the three garments to wear are: the garment of skillful means and activity, the foundation of the vast field; the garment of pervasive compassion, the raw elephant skin; the garment that gathers the three outer, inner, and secret, the tiger skin loincloth. Second, the two ornaments to put on are: the snake ornament and the skull garland. The former, when explained in detail: the head ornament of the Naga king lineage with white patterns; the earrings of the royal lineage with yellow patterns; the necklace of the Brahmin lineage with red patterns; the belt of the commoner lineage with black patterns; the bracelets and anklets of the outcaste lineage with green patterns. The latter can be divided into: the head ornament of dry skulls, the wet flesh strips, the bloody armlets. Third, the three substances to smear are: on the right side of the forehead, a heap of great ashes; between the eyebrows, a red dot of rakta; on the chin, a drawing of ghee patterns. These are, as the common topic of discussion in both the new and old traditions says, "the ornaments of the victorious hero's emblems," formerly when the Great Glorious One or Heruka subdued Rudra, he made Rudra's ornaments as his own ornaments, just as in the world a hero or robber kills an enemy and then wears the enemy's clothes and ornaments. Second is: as quoted in the commentary on the Magical Illusion Sutra: The blazing splendor, the majestic attire of the water monster. The union of skillful means and wisdom, the attire of the sun and moon. Burning the malicious, the attire of the wisdom fire. Cutting the root of birth and death, the attire of the crescent moon tooth. Pervading and fulfilling wishes, the attire of the vajra wings. Completely possessing power, the attire of the vajra cloak. Proceeding to the Buddha ground, the attire of the powerful rhinoceros hide armor. Averting harm and malice
