Sixth, the branch of requesting not to pass into Nirvana and to remain in the world has four aspects: where, for what purpose, when, and the benefits of the request. First, it is about the Buddhas who, after accomplishing various deeds for the benefit of sentient beings, conceive the intention to pass into Nirvana. Second, it is for the sake of taking care of sentient beings wandering in samsara. Third, just as in the past, the Tathagata was requested by the lay follower Tsunda, I also request that until samsara is empty, the lamp of the teachings be lit and that you remain without passing into Nirvana. This request is the sixth branch, the antidote to wrong views, which is remembering the meaning. One should make the request with verses such as, "Those Buddhas who wish to pass into Nirvana..." Fourth, the benefit of doing so is as stated in the sutra: "Listen, King Brahma, your request to the Bhagavan is a particularly excellent merit, for the Buddhas do not pass into Nirvana." So it is said. Seventh, the branch of dedicating the accumulated roots of virtue to enlightenment has three aspects: clearly establishing the collection of merit to be dedicated, extensively dedicating to an objectless realm, and the reason why dedication is necessary. First, it is about all the virtues of the three doors, with and without focus, belonging to the three times of past, future, and present, of myself and other sentient beings, whether I have done them, caused others to do them, or rejoiced in others' actions, etc. In short, all the collections of merit that are not inverted and are suitable for dedication. Second, dedicating to the realm of the Vajrayana, where the three circles are completely pure and there is no object of focus, is the seventh branch, the antidote to doubt or non-prediction, which is remembering the key points. One should dedicate with verses such as, "The virtues accumulated by myself and others in the three times..." Third, the reason why dedication is necessary will be explained in detail in the section on concluding dedication below. However, in the general sutra tradition, only the immediately preceding explanation of the seven branches is well-known. However, there are many explanations of the specific objects of focus in those practices. Here, there are also many unique oral instructions in the special language of this treasure tradition, which the discerning should examine. Furthermore, the general and earlier

In many reliable terma teachings, there are those called the ten branches, with invocation and abiding at the beginning in accordance with the general rule. At the end, prayers are added, and sometimes eight branches related to the verses of refuge also appear, but it is not necessarily limited to one form. Second, the benefits of the general collection: this is very difficult. In general, all the doors of accumulating merit are included in this. In particular, in the Paramita Vehicle, there is the saying of "three countless kalpas," drawing from the doctrine of numerical metaphors, distinguishing without confusion, etc., and finally, "countless is the ultimate." It is said that it is necessary to accumulate merit for three countless kalpas, and if these special points are grasped, countless merits can be perfected in an instant. The Omniscient Dharma King said, "If the mind is strong, each instant can accumulate many kalpas of merit." Therefore, it is not necessary to accumulate three countless kalpas in that way. For the Secret Mantra, it is for those with extremely sharp faculties, and by constantly practicing the accumulation of immeasurable merit with great mental strength in each instant, it is reasonable to be liberated in one lifetime, etc. As it is said in "The Lamp of Three Modes," "With many methods and no difficulties, for those with sharp faculties, the Mantra Vehicle is extremely superior." If such key points are not understood, but only elaborate on empty words, and even just read aloud, piling up understanding with cumbersome bonds, those ignorant people vehemently compete with the activities of the holy ones, talking nonsense, which is pitiful. Fourth, taking vows and commitments is divided into two: how to take them, and finally, how to obtain accomplishments from the field of merit and gather them. The first is divided into four: the vows of individual liberation, the training of Bodhisattvas, the samaya of the Vidyadhara mantra, and through these, transforming everything beyond thought, the expanse of the Great Perfection, into a state without protective boundaries. The first is: from now on, regarding the sins, downfalls, and violations accumulated from beginningless samsara, especially the seven types of individual liberation vows of individual liberation, namely the two of bhikshu and bhikshuni, the two of shramanera and shramanerika, shikshamana, which are the five aspects of ordination, and the two of upasaka and upasika.
