Since there is no higher offering than this, it is called the unsurpassed offering. Observing that the accumulation field is pleased by offering in these two ways is the antidote to stinginess, the second branch. The third is not to think of obtaining the power of merit perfectly for oneself alone, but with the pure intention of offering for the sake of all sentient beings who have not been one's mother, accompanied by sincere aspiration, one should offer with the verse, "With offerings actually available and those created by the mind." The fourth is the benefit: As stated in the White Lotus Sutra, "Even with just one flower, one can make offerings. To the body of the Sugata, or a painting on a wall, offering with the mind as if present in person, those gradually see billions of Buddhas." So it is said. Third, the branch of confession has three parts: stating the transgressions, confessing with a feeling of regret, and its benefits. The first is: I and all other beings, from beginningless time, the sins accumulated by the mind of the three poisons, what I have done myself, caused others to do, and rejoiced in what others have done; the five inexpiable sins such as killing parents and arhats; the ten non-virtuous actions such as killing and taking what is not given; whatever karma, small or large, has been accumulated, I deeply regret and vow to admit the faults. The second is: Remembering all these sins, with a strong feeling of remorse, confessing before the accumulation field by remembering the four powers of purification is the third branch, the antidote to delusion. From this time onwards, until samsara is without beginning or end... etc., confess with the verse. The third is the benefit: As stated in the Middle Length Mother Sutra, "If one remembers, at the moment of remembering, remembering the sin and repenting, confessing exhausts all sins, the victorious son should protect it later." So it is said. Fourth, the branch of cultivating joy in the merit of others has two parts: thinking about the difference in the object, and the benefit. The first is: Rejoicing in the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, the assembly of noble ones, who benefit beings, the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas who have faith, guarding the precepts they have learned, and the ordinary beings such as householders, each accumulating conditioned virtue.

In short, cultivating joy with a mind of rejoicing in all accumulated virtues is the antidote to jealousy, the fourth branch. Recite with your mouth: Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Hearers, Solitary Realizers, etc., rejoice with this verse. The second is the benefit: This is easy to do and of great significance. It is said that the one who accumulates virtue and the one who generates the mind of rejoicing both obtain equal merit. In the past, in the sacred land of India, when King Prasenajit of Kosala made offerings to the Tathagata's Sangha, a poor person who generated the mind of rejoicing in it obtained the most excellent merit among equal merits. Fifth, the branch of requesting the turning of the wheel of Dharma with the intention of benefiting oneself and others has three parts: Reciting the words of emptiness in accordance with the scriptures, actually requesting the turning of the wheel of Dharma, and explaining its benefits. The first is: All Buddhas who dwell in pure and boundless realms in all directions. In the past, when the teacher, the perfectly enlightened Shakyamuni Buddha, attained perfect enlightenment, Deep, peaceful, free from elaboration, and luminous union. (Tibetan) After reciting this verse, he did not teach the Dharma for seven weeks and focused on subtle activities. At this time, Brahma with the crest jewel and Indra offered a thousand-spoked golden wheel and so on, and requested the turning of the wheel of Dharma. He agreed to do so. The second is: In this way, to those Buddhas who do not wish to teach the Dharma and who abide in meditative equipoise, one emanates countless bodies and offers a thousand-spoked golden wheel to each Buddha, earnestly requesting the turning of the wheel of Dharma for the benefit of sentient beings, remembering the meaning of the fifth branch, the antidote to desire. Entreat with verses such as In realms that are boundless and without people in all directions. The third is the benefit: In the Sutra Requested by Crown Prince, it says: In the intention of the king, Whoever makes the request, Is like a king of freedom, His merit is like a bond. Thus it is said.
