The wise consider it without fabrication. The common explanation of these is: covered with monkey skin. As it is said, it should be done like that. The difference in writing is: Similarly, the second union is: Lotuses should be written, adorned with the blood of women. And, on both stamens of the lotus, mandalas should be written. As it is said, draw lotus petals inside both skins with the first menstrual blood of a woman. In the Vajrakila Tantra it says: Having covered it with monkey skin, on both sides draw lotuses, write with menstrual blood. On the essence, write khraiṃ (藏文, Devanagari: ख्रैं, Romanized Sanskrit: khraiṃ, literal meaning: khraiṃ). As it is said. Write eight, and in the center, whatever is appropriate of the body, speech, and mind signs of the yidam, or write the letter khraiṃ (藏文, Devanagari: ख्रैं, Romanized Sanskrit: khraiṃ, literal meaning: khraiṃ) and cover it. Furthermore, in detail, the upper is the newly born skull, inside the covering draw lotus petals, the center is the mantra of the yidam father. The lower is the skull of a woman, inside the covering, like before, write the mantra of the consort, and let it fall directly. Visualize these as those deities, and after consecrating them, place them without mixing up the top and bottom, or place them in a corner. Also, tie it with human hair. The method of doing this is: with very soft wood, such as birch, or with a wooden damaru itself, make the opening face outwards in an embracing manner, wrap both the top and bottom, without damaging the damaru, and to symbolize the sixteen joys of embracing, pierce sixteen holes directly through the top and bottom, and thread through them a thread made of very tightly drawn human hair. In the Vitotama Tantra it says: Tie with a thread of hair from a charnel ground, with blue vitriol, blue pills, and leg bones. As it is said. Fine ones. By drawing them crisscross from the upper and lower holes, sixteen squares like a dharma source will appear. Tie a thin silk ribbon about two finger-widths wide around its waist, not too tightly, because there is a need to produce various sounds. On it, attach a handle rope, and roll up a moist vitriol leg bone into a ball, wrap it with beeswax and thin cloth, and attach it to the end of the human hair thread, and place two such iron pieces directly in the center of the left and right waists. In the Union Tantra it says: Strike with the bone of a vitriol leg.

That is the meaning. Second, the way to shake it is: shake the hand drum in a state of clear recollection. That is, the Sanskrit word for skull is "Kapala," where "Kam" is happiness and "Pala" is protection, so "happiness protection" symbolizes the lotus of the Mudra Mother. The sign of the desire deity drawn inside symbolizes the innate bliss. The sixteen joys of the descent of great bliss and the stability below are symbolized by the meshes of the net. The sound of the hand drum symbolizes the profound emptiness, sound-emptiness and non-arising. The great bliss symbolized by the skull, etc., and the ultimate emptiness symbolized by its sound, the combination of the two without separation, symbolizes the wisdom of non-duality of bliss and emptiness. As the tantra says: "The vajra hand drum of method itself, and, the sound of the wisdom ḍākinī." As it is said, in such a state of clear recollection, hold the waist of the hand drum at the intersection of the meshes with the thumb and forefinger, press the thumb and forefinger slightly loosely, and strike the meshes with the fingers in a trembling manner. When the striking whip strikes, combine it with the name of the field-protecting ḍākinī to be summoned, as the Kṛṁ Hūṁ Bīto Tantra says: "Saying Kṛṁ Hūṁ, strike and summon. The sound of the small drum is recitation, it is held for inviting and calling." These are done as annotations so that the respective intentions of the new and old tantras are not confused and can withstand scrutiny. Think of uttering the sound "gi". For example, illustrate with "Tsa Muntri Akarshaya Mikrem Hum," etc., combine according to the situation and recite it in the mouth. The clear recollection just explained like this is for a special need, otherwise, it is only the clear recollection of generating the wisdom of non-duality of bliss and emptiness mentioned before. Third, the need is: by shaking (the hand drum) through remembering that very reality, the wisdom Mahamudra of non-duality of bliss and emptiness manifests as the image of sound, in order to please the guru and the assembly of deities of the mandala, and from that, blessings and siddhis are bestowed very quickly, and all the field-protecting deities of the places of heroes and yoginis, etc., are inspired in their mind-streams by this sound, quickly gather and bestow
