After traversing the path between, he himself will manifest the fruit of the Arhat with two wisdoms, like the Bodhi of "knowing the exhaustion and non-arising." Thus, the Arhats of the Hearers and Solitary Buddhas, after passing into complete Nirvana, abide in the realm of cessation, which their own school considers to be eternally unmoving. However, according to the Mahayana perspective, for the duration of time that they have accumulated merit, the activity of the mind will be absorbed into quiescence. Then, they will be born in pure lands such as Sukhavati, taking birth in the calyx of a lotus. Due to the power of the imprints of ignorance and subtle obscurations of knowledge, the lotus remains closed for seven years. During that time, due to the compassionate power of the Buddhas of that land, the lotus opens, and they are awakened from that Samadhi. They develop an interest in entering the Mahayana, generate Bodhicitta, and practice the path, attaining Buddhahood in that very lifetime, as described in the Lankavatara Sutra and the White Lotus Sutra. Wishing for the attainment of the fruit, that is: May the Hearers also realize the meaning of the Four Noble Truths, and ultimately attain the fruit of Arhatship. That is (the meaning of this sentence). So, why are they called Hearers? Although there are different interpretations of the word's meaning, they do not, like Solitary Buddhas, not rely on the teachings of a spiritual friend. Rather, even when attaining the fruit, they rely on and listen to the Buddha's teachings, and therefore are called "Pravaka" or Hearers. Fifth is: Wishing that all sentient beings of the three realms may properly practice the ten virtuous actions, and through their power, attain the temporary happiness of gods and humans, that is, the status of higher realms, and that they do not fall into wrong paths, but diligently engage in the ten virtuous practices, and uphold the lifeline of the Buddha's teachings. That is, from "All sentient beings of the three realms" to "uphold the lifeline of the Buddha's teachings." Sixth is: Wishing that the noble individuals, spiritual friends, Vajra brothers and sisters, etc., who uphold, propagate, and spread the Dharma, may have long lives and stable political power. That is, from "Those who uphold, propagate, and spread the Dharma" to "May the lamp of the teachings remain for a long time." Seventh is: Wishing that all of us, teachers, disciples, patrons, etc., may have all our wishes fulfilled in this world, and that in future lives, all sentient beings

May I become the extraordinary Lama and virtuous friend capable of saving [beings]. May the wheel of the Great Vehicle's Dharma turn without interruption, and may I benefit beings through the four means of gathering: generosity, kind speech, beneficial action, and acting in accordance with the Dharma. From "May we, teachers, disciples, patrons, and retinue..." to "...may we benefit beings through the four means of gathering." Eighth, may the Vajrayana teachings, without being used carelessly, be extremely widespread and flourishing in all directions, at all times, and in all circumstances. And through its power, may peace, prosperity, and perfection arise in all countries, without distinction of region or race. From "May the Vajrayana teachings be firm and blessed..." to "...auspicious, prosperous, peaceful, and perfect." Ninth, may the precious teachings of the Buddhas flourish and spread in all directions, times, and places. And through its power, may all sentient beings be far removed from disease, weapons, famine, war, and so on, and may they be exceedingly happy and joyful. This concludes with a prayer. From "In all directions, times, and places..." to "...may the benefit of oneself and others be spontaneously accomplished." What is the necessity of explaining the meaning of the prayer in this way? It is to prevent those who do not truly understand the meaning of the words from making mistakes in their prayers due to relying on incorrect understandings. The second part has three points: the guidance of other prayers, the number of times these prayers should be recited, and the admonition that visualization and motivation are most important in all rituals and prayers. The first point: The text says, "The text says," etc., and any other suitable [prayers] should be recited according to the circumstances, combining extensive and concise prayers. As explicitly indicated, at the end, extensively recite prayers, as stated in the Avatamsaka Sutra: "Thereafter, the Bodhisattva Samantabhadra, through kalpas and immeasurable kalpas, continuously in one world, added the inexpressible number of extremely fine dust particles of inexpressible Buddha-fields, and for the sake of manifestation, made prayers in verses: 'All who are in all the worlds of the ten directions...'"
