I have nowhere to go. Moreover, although there is no gross clinging to duality in the essence of cultivating the mind, the slight conviction of thinking "this is it" is the experience of attachment and the obscuration of knowledge, so abandoning this is more difficult than anything else. The Great Orgyen said, "Bound by the hope of signs of ground and path, ruined by attachment to the taste of experience and realization, deceived by the water of mirages." Therefore, the essence of that meaning is said to be a spontaneously arising awareness in which the mind is free from all conceptual designations, and at any time of eating, sleeping, walking, or staying, if it arises without artificiality or adulteration, that is sufficient. This continuous practice of holding the breath for one session is very profound, so pay attention to it. If it is not a special instruction like the oral transmission that gathers the wind and mind into the central channel, then in other Dzogchen self-traditions, by filling the central channel with wind in an effortless posture, it is said that the wind of wisdom will naturally transform everything, so the Omniscient One also said: "We do not wish to attain enlightenment by holding the breath through the nostrils. The wind of the nostrils is like the empty bellows of a bellows." This is also aimed at this key point. However, when holding the breath in the fourfold combination, just like threading a needle through the eye of a needle, do not let the wisdom flow out, and if the mind is distracted, there will be great obstacles from the life force and so on, so keep it in mind. I rejoice in your diligent practice and hard work. Moreover, for the arising of thoughts and the purification of obscurations, there is nothing more beneficial than devotion to the guru, so recognize that the root guru and the Great Orgyen are inseparable, and strive to practice guru yoga. Regarding your practice, the reason why it was difficult to practice in the past is that the ordinary awareness of the present manifests as a fault of practice, and the reason why it cannot be connected with bliss is the blissful experience of falling into one side of calm abiding. The thought of thinking "now this is it" when gathering the mind inward for practice is the same as the "cultivation of attachment as illusion" of later generations, and so on, all of these are not correct views. Now, it is said that without those, there is no need to force anything, and a natural awareness arises, and there is nothing else to practice besides that, which is the practice of the path without error. It is permissible to say that the one-pointed awareness that can slightly control the karmic wind is like that. There is nothing to practice in this.

Therefore, if self-righteousness arises, thinking, "This is non-meditation," it is very dangerous. Do not set standards of high and low views with conceptual mind. Instead, in all eating, sleeping, walking, and dwelling, just do not speak. In the essence of meaning, the present thought is separated from arising, ceasing, and abiding, and the Great Perfection's view is primordially liberated. Beyond that, if you think there is a more excellent clear and blissful mind, and use conceptual mind to measure and choose, that is not the Great Perfection's view. The Clear Light Tantra, "Lion's Roar Perfection," says: Whatever effort is made without limit, is like a blind person searching for the edge of the sky, it cannot be found. No one can change this meaning that cannot be found. This effortless awareness has no beginning or end. Thus it is said. At this time, it is necessary to recite with great reverence. Therefore, in the four sessions, practice Guru Yoga, and from the depths of your heart, generate the faith of seeing the Guru as the Buddha. Consider all suffering and happiness, good and bad, as known only to you. By transforming your mind, let the devotion that you know naturally burn, your body tremble, and tears flow naturally. If you do not pray from the depths of your heart, you will not be able to receive the transmission of blessings by merely reciting words. Therefore, make such prayers. Receive the four empowerments. In the state of inseparability of your mind and the Guru's mind, let the mind rest naturally, without limits. By doing so, a certain clear and empty awareness will arise from the obscurations of knowledge, that is, from the covering of inner defilements. At the same time that the view of the four extremes of elaboration, which cannot be expressed in words and metaphors, is exhausted in the Dharmadhatu, the qualities of the signs of the path will arise like a light rain falling from the sky. Please keep this in mind. Thus it is said. Regarding how to practice: When mindfulness is strong and thoughts are weak, that is the clear experience. When that happens, relax your eyes. Sometimes, both mindfulness and thoughts are weak, that is the non-conceptual experience. At that time, keep your eyes slightly gazing into space. Exhale. Maintain the present awareness for a moment. Or, saying that thoughts are like empty shells, without the dust of thoughts, is the state where thoughts have not arisen as practice.
