The protector Tara also speaks of the Shentong (gzhan stong) view, And similarly mentions it in passing. Saying that it is none other than the actual system of the two chariots of the Gelugpa (dge ldan), They proclaim that all of Tibet has erred in its view and meditation. I have not engaged in study or practice, But by relying on a cave for a long time, I understand all of that to be true paths of desire and fear, And as dharmas fabricated by the mind. View is to benefit sentient beings after attaining the path of self-seeing, Meditation is self-liberation in the unobstructed expanse. Action is to abandon misdeeds on the accumulation path, And to gather virtuous dharmas on the path of joining. Although it is said that after attaining the seeing path, one should primarily benefit sentient beings, They protect the great household after abandoning the small household, Practicing the religion of the barbarians. If those establishments were spoken of in their own place, It would be very offensive. Therefore, having established a foothold on the main path of the teachings, With reasons of scripture and logic, Having composed the treatise "Treasury of Qualities" (yon tan mdzod), And the commentaries, the two true chariots, He composed nearly a thousand pages. Having seen this, if you have gained the courage To refute or establish, please speak. This is the answer given by the Dzogchenpa Rangjung Dorje (rang byung rdo rje) when the representative of Tsurphu Monastery (mtshur phu gdan tshab) asked how the view, meditation, action, and result of the various Tibetan religions are. The self-nature is the view that is inexpressible, unthinkable, and unutterable. Many great meditators have been deceived by the experience of clarity and emptiness. Self-luminous, unborn, and unceasing is meditation. I have seen that the thorns of conceptual thought disturb samadhi. If the self-aware wisdom of each individual is not mistaken, No matter how one acts, one will go on the path. This was said by the Dzogchenpa Rangjung Dorje. The key points of view, meditation, and action are easy to understand. View is the sphere of immaculate space, Meditation is the rising of the sun's rays. Action is related to time, I prostrate to the one endowed with supreme intelligence. When establishing the view through hearing, It is necessary to combine scriptural and logical explanations. When establishing meditation through experience, It is necessary to distinguish between mind and wisdom. Action is the three aspects of ethics, Combined with the lineage accumulations of the five paths. Now, when meditating on those meanings, in order to make it easy for the kusulu (ku su lu pa) who have little learning to understand, If it is explained in this way, what is called view is simply letting one's mind relax. There is no calculation of what is this and what is not this, And it is not like falling asleep or fainting, The clarity of awareness is without essence, In the vastness, one does not fall into ordinariness, To speak with words

It is not possible. It cannot be conceived by the mind. This view is not in conflict with the tenets of any school. Do not be distracted by it. Do not meditate. Recognizing one's own nature, without adding the artifice of "I have recognized it," and maintaining that with a stream of mindfulness is called meditation. Conduct is not being delighted by the good and unable to accomplish it, nor being saddened by the bad and unable to prevent it. Naturally, without acceptance or rejection, although it is so, those with initial karma cannot use this as a path, therefore they do not revere the results of karma, nor are they attached. The four immeasurables, such as love and compassion, are the unmistaken cause of bodhicitta, so in the post-meditation state, not separating from them perfects the accumulation of merit. Conceptual thought is the self-display of the mind, so do not prevent even those that arise, nor think about them again. Do not think, do not analyze it. Looking at the source of arising, it is said to be unborn, because it arises from emptiness, so like clouds dissolving in the sky, it returns to its own place. If you look outward at the object of arising, you will follow the five aggregates and the six sense bases, so you cannot cut off the root of delusion. In short, superior practitioners accomplish the function of view, meditation, and conduct with just mindfulness. Intermediate practitioners maintain the nature of clarity and emptiness with mindfulness. Inferior and initial practitioners, in the state of thinking "I will not be distracted," that is the view. Not forgetting it, mindfulness is meditation. Without hypocrisy and duplicity, without adding attachment to actions, that is conduct. The view of recognizing one's own nature. Not forgetting is meditation. Conduct that is in accordance with the Dharma. For the benefit of those who live in Drikung Til (འགྲི་གུང་ཐིལ་), with a mind that benefits them, in accordance with their capacity, Dzogchenpa Rangjung Dorje. Instructions on the key points of meditation. The father is Orgyen Dharma King, and the mother is the chief of the dakinis, the two Lhacham (Lha lcam), the son is the accomplished Jebang and his twenty-five attendants, with a hundredfold faith, I pray. In the beginning of the kalpa of existence, the four continents, Mount Meru, the heavenly realms, etc., even if they are formed indestructibly, will eventually be destroyed in an instant by seven fires and one water. Compared to the difficulties of building in monasteries, it is more comfortable to do retreat in caves. The masters of the four pillars and eight beams, have they not seen death in the empty valley? It is uncertain when one will die, therefore one must
