Do not be greedy for enjoyment. Do not attract the pleasure of others from the outside. Causing displeasure to householders creates sin. The thought of one's own displeasure, like a forest of thorns, causes mutual alienation among fellow practitioners because the seeds of jealousy and strife are untamed. One likes to say hurtful words and expose the shortcomings of others. Like a waterbird waiting for a small fish, thinking about what kind of shortcomings one can find in others, this kind of thinking exists in any monastery, large or small, in the degenerate age, and is the root of all sins. Therefore, one must learn to practice pure appearance towards both oneself and others. After that, the necessity or emphasis of entering the Buddhist order is: In the sacred Vinaya it says: Do no evil, practice all good, purify your mind, this is the teaching of all Buddhas. Therefore, one must respect the study and practice that is the basis of all virtues. Whether one can keep pure vows and commitments, increase meditation, and let go of worldly affairs depends on this. If one does things that contradict the four root vows, one will become a thief of Buddhism, so one must stay away. After that, for the rest, like observing the prohibitions in the Vinaya, even if one cannot fully observe the vows of a monk, there is no sin. One must pay attention to clothing and behavior that harm the image of Buddhism, and not drink immoderately. In short, one must take seriously the points of what to take and what to abandon, as well as the essential points of mountain Dharma and oral instructions. Those who enter here are not just fake practitioners who cover their faces with doors, but have vowed to seek liberation, and it is entirely voluntary. From the appropriate time in autumn until the 25th of October, it is an important special time to provide necessities such as food and clothing. After that, if it is necessary to go out for special reasons such as illness or death, one must ask for leave. Other than that, one should spend time through ten practices such as retreat and study. This is not a place to engage in worldly activities and engage in commercial activities. In short, one must cherish the damage to the image of Buddhism by all those who hold material things, and not indulge in idle talk and trivial matters. These are the rules and regulations that condense the essence. For worldly people, most of them are painful.

Even if one takes on efforts for trivial matters that lack essence, if we can learn and practice the precepts established by the Teacher, it will become a very great merit. Therefore, please primarily take responsibility yourselves for the rules. Afterwards, if the giver does not give and the taker does not take, it is said that the fault is the same. Therefore, please make pure and unadulterated giving and taking, without deception, the priority for everyone. The single suffering of beings is the source of all happiness. May the doctrine, gain, and respect, as well as the precepts, remain for a long time. May it be so. From Dzogchen Tulku Rinpoche: The question about how to meditate has been clearly answered. The essence of mind cannot be determined anywhere. All those who conceptualize the six consciousnesses' objects cannot go beyond it itself. Although it is established as the basis, that essence that cannot be determined, its power manifests as being lost in external objects, creating the object and the subject. Everything arises and develops from that, therefore, the cause and effect of samsara arise from this. Furthermore, due to ignorance identical to self-grasping, as the cause, grasping and apprehending arise from universal conceptualization. Until its own essence is liberated, even the pure image of meditation requires mindfulness. For the sake of great benefit, if there is no bias, one can become a Buddha. If special expansion is lost in meaning, it will be lost in the realm of form. If one thinks it is universal, one will be lost in the aspect of appearance. The way of abiding in the Great Perfection is: the essence is primordially pure, so it is natural abiding. In that very wisdom of naked awareness, in the clear state of naked mindfulness, without fabrication, without doubt, without generating certainty, do not meditate, do not be distracted, protect the face of mindfulness. Protecting is just a name, do not lose faith and understanding in the meaning of that essence that cannot be determined anywhere. Without binding oneself with good views and meditation, natural abiding is known as ordinary consciousness. In short, for all initial practitioners, mindfulness is meditation, if one is too attached to it, grasping mindfulness will obscure the nature of reality, so without a little meditation, one will fall into distraction. Do not meditate, do not think, do not examine, do not conceptualize, please know that the nature of reality is the essence of mindfulness. Nowadays, this is the mantra of old meditators. Proclaiming that one has surpassed the object of meditation, the meditator, the object of protection, the protector, and that many years have passed.
