When you grasp the root, Obstacle demons will disguise themselves as anything. Do not crave self-praise and food, Think of the qualities of the guru! The influence of the place is great, It will disguise itself as fame, wealth, merit, Food, drink, and like-minded friends. Cut off attachment to everything completely! An upright person, A friend who is in accordance with the Dharma, And people without jealousy are rare, So stay alone! Doing asceticism is good, But it is better not to drink alcohol. Know that it is a thief Of memory and discipline! Applying mud to the door is wonderful, But it is more profound to seal your own mouth. Whether speaking is clever or not, Think about the arising of attachment and aversion! Taking refuge is wonderful, But it is better to take all happiness and suffering, good and bad, With the mind that the Three Jewels know, Abandon alternating faith! Confession is wonderful, But intense regret is better. With the complete four powers, Thoroughly destroy sins and downfalls! Making offerings and generosity is good, But small faith is better. Liberate from the realm of craving, Be content with the attachment to nourishment! Praying and calling out is good, But it is better to have faith. When faith transforms appearances, The guru is abiding in front of you! Meditating on realization is good, But it is better to have clarity in the generation stage, And to know what is to be purified and what purifies, Practice the union of the generation and completion stages! Abiding in reality is good, But it is better to abide in the uncorrected, original, Nature that has no permanence or annihilation, Rest in the uncontrived nature! The view of direct transcendence is good, But it is better to have self-existing spontaneous presence, Without too much attachment to conceptual thoughts, Directly settle the awareness! Manifesting benefit for others is good, But it is better to generate bodhicitta. Dedicate all the good deeds you have done, To the wish to benefit others! In short, without selfishness, Knowing your own faults and without arrogance, Cultivate pure appearance towards everything, Abide in a low place and have great altruism, Abandon the eight worldly concerns, let go of mundane affairs, Be happy to be sick, happy to die, and frequent solitary places. Listen to all the guru's teachings and follow them, Do not let yourself be controlled by bad friends. If you do this, and say there is no realization and qualities

Furthermore, when traversing the realms in the bardo, the unerring words of the Victorious Ones are present. May I meet again and again, without separation, in the three times and timelessness. Place your mind on the words of the heart's journey. This was spoken by Rangjung Dorje, the Dzogchenpa, who devoted himself to three years of practice for Jigme Namgyal. From the various questions of Gonste Tulku Rinpoche regarding the cultivation of mindfulness: Generally, since the term 'mindfulness' refers to various different things, the term 'mindfulness' is universally applied even in the context of the great systems of thought, the five paths and ten bhumis, as exemplified by the mindfulness of the foundations of mindfulness on the path of accumulation. In that regard, the meaning of the first question, the mindfulness of the generation stage of deities, devotion to the guru, and the sorrow and renunciation of samsara, is called the mindfulness of formation. If it is the generation stage, it is the mindfulness of perceiving appearances as form. Similarly, devotion involves perception and desire, while sorrow and renunciation involve the mindfulness of various feelings generated by consciousness. Although they are different, in essence, they cannot transcend the continuum of mindfulness that is the nature of the five aggregates, and during the initial stages, this continuum of mindfulness is indispensable, just as one cannot abandon the path before reaching the destination. The meaning of the second question is that sometimes when the mind wanders to an object, one thinks, 'I am wandering,' and then draws it back and rests without alteration. This is the mindfulness of the perception of clinging to emptiness. Furthermore, if one merely acknowledges the wandering, and considers that sufficient, it is said that there is no difference between that and an ordinary person who does not turn towards meditation. However, there is a very great difference, because those who, relying on the three sources of the arising, abiding, and ceasing of the mind, recognize the meaning of non-arising and non-ceasing through experience, are different from ordinary people who have no understanding of whether the mind is material or immaterial, and are thus unpredetermined. Ordinary people, having strayed from the very object of their negative actions, are still further confused by confusion, and although this is called wandering, they consider it to be a state of non-wandering, which is merely the use of the other-dependence of the eight aggregates of consciousness, and is therefore contradictory to the nature of reality and substance. However, one who has seen the face of the mind, even if their clear awareness momentarily wanders to the objects of the six senses, as soon as it is grasped by mindfulness, the mind abides in a state of clarity and emptiness, or is very focused on the object of mindfulness, or the radiance of the five senses does not cease, but the consciousness does not conceptualize anything at all. There are these three ways of explaining it.
