Does the one who offers, transforming the pure vessel and essence into the illusory generation stage, exist in their own continuum? Although the generated and the generator are equally pervasive in samsara and nirvana in terms of essence, all those who enter the intermediate state between the four states of initial birth, abiding, decay, and death are purified by the generation stage, and temporarily, through the power of accumulating merit and wisdom, they also attain the essence of a deity; it does not come from elsewhere. Furthermore, the accumulation of merit is perfected through mandala rituals, generation stage practices, recitations, praises, and so on. Its nature does not transcend emptiness, and it is sealed with the view of liberation, thus it is the perfection of wisdom. I prostrate to the Lama! Again, I say this: Are the blessings of the Lama, Yidam, and Dakini three, in terms of the magnitude of blessings in practice, and the closeness of compassion, existent or not? All of this depends on the interdependent connection of the Lama, arising from reliance on it. Therefore, according to the tantras, transmissions, and pith instructions, the Lama himself is more profound than practice. If one practices single-mindedly, the Lama is the body, the Yidam is the speech, and the Dakini is the mind, it is clear. Alternatively, the essence is the Lama, the form is practiced as the Yidam, and the recitation is understood as the Dakini. No matter how it is done, there is no contradiction; it is the difference of interdependence and faith. Approach, practice, and the three activities: through approach, blessings enter the continuum; through practice, great accomplishments are attained; activity is the skillful play of compassion. For example, in doing virtuous deeds, without plowing, the land cannot be tamed; without sowing seeds, there will be no harvest; without reaping and threshing, it cannot be eaten. Similarly, the three types of heroes: oneself is the Samaya Hero, inviting and abiding the Wisdom Hero, the heart essence is the seed syllable, the mind is focused. The Tibetan word "sprowa" refers to the necessity of expanding and contracting, it is because compassion is stirred from the dharmadhatu, it is sowing the seeds of the two accumulations, it is training the skill of intelligence, it is throwing arrogance at the crucial point, and so on. Pacifying, increasing, magnetizing, subjugating, and supreme five, various needs are accomplished. Lama practice is not fixed, it varies, crown, heart, space, etc., the method of generation is not fixed, various, the reason is universal giving, generating at the crown is to integrate blessings, to guide the initial practitioner. Meditating at the heart, the fire of wisdom blazes, reality.

The essence of the fundamental practice instructions. In the stage of generation in the sky, the needs are special and the goals are clear, so the distinctions should be made according to the circumstances. The method of blending the Lama and the Lord of Oddiyana (Padmasambhava) into one is: "In the time of the final five hundred, I myself will emanate in the form of Vajra Master to accomplish the benefit of beings." Ponder the words of these prophecies and contemplate their meaning. The essence is the root Lama, the manifestation is clearly the Great Guru of Oddiyana, and the intention is non-dual and beyond expression. Within the mandala of profound secret mantra, the implements of offering the torma, and all the elaborate stages of explanation involving melodies and music, have immeasurable purposes and needs. Because secret mantra is superior in its skillful means, it does not abandon desirable qualities, and it fulfills the pleasure of the Three Roots and the oath-bound ones. Transforming the perceptions of those to be tamed, and not divulging secrets to the Bon tradition, etc., the needs of interdependent origination are limitless. However, the main point is that without the essential instructions of the generation and completion stages of ultimate truth, competing with the dances of Lüsön (a place name), the masked dances are just foolish deceptions, and there is no purpose in them. Padmasambhava said, "In the signs of the degenerate age of five, rely only on the sounds of rituals, songs, and music." Therefore, now the distinctions should be made. In general recitations, there should be a gentle and pleasing sound that enters the mind. Also, in the tones of supplication, exhortation, and longing for renunciation, etc., if one proclaims loudly, then perception transforms and the object of focus becomes clear. For the general public, it is clear, pure, and pleasant. It is not otherwise. The three doors are the three mandalas: body as deity, speech as mantra, mind as dharmata. By training in their nature, the best is that the coarse, ordinary body transforms into a clear, pure deity body, and one can travel to the Buddha-fields. The intermediate is that the clinging to the ordinary body is completely purified, and one's own appearance ripens into the deity body. Although the ordinary appearance does not change, as soon as the support of the illusory body is abandoned, like taking a vessel out of salty soil, one ripens into the body of a deity in the bardo. This is called the Vidyadhara of Maturation. The lowest is that even if one does not accomplish it in this way, by meditating on the generation stage and reciting mantras, the obscurations of body and speech are purified, and one overcomes disease and evil spirits, etc. The benefits are inconceivable. Again, I will tell you...
