When the five life forces enter the awareness at the heart center, awareness reverts from the base and goes to the original, primordial ground of Kadak, at which point the separation of body and mind and the manifestation of complete enlightenment occur simultaneously, so there is no need for clarification and funerary rites, etc. However, it is not forbidden for followers to strive for the interdependent connection of accumulating their own merit. As it was said before: For a yogi who abides in this way, there is no constant or inconstant cause of death. Likewise, he is free from all fears and also free from the attachment to the body. Even with view and meditation, there is neither benefit nor harm for the yogi. Since there is no result of benefit or harm, there is also no place to abide in this. He is free from the ripening of cause and effect. Therefore, it is supreme to become accustomed to this. The spontaneously arising, self-liberating, unborn space, appearance changes before time changes. The spontaneously accomplished Kadak dissolves into space. He is free from the extremes of hope and fear. With the exhaustion of the extremes of cause and effect, the primordial purity of the indivisible space of reality and awareness. Therefore, it is enough to realize this meaning. Thus, those of the highest faculties who are liberated in the realm of primordial purity are beyond the changes of before and after and appearance and emptiness, so there is no bardo. However, for those other than that, those of middling and lower faculties, all phenomena exist in the nature of bardo, so it is necessary to know how to be liberated there. Thus, all states in which external phenomena appear to the inner mind should be known as bardo, which is the great measure for assessing the meaning of whether the essence of reality has moved or not. Why is that? Because all states that have become external from the inner realm of primordial purity are the nature of bardo. That is, the manifestation from the ground as the ground appearance, the self-radiance appearing as body and wisdom, the manifestation as the aspects of the two form bodies, is the pure bardo of reality. All the phenomena of illusory appearances appearing as the six realms are the impure bardo of delusion. Therefore, if measured by definition, the intermediate part from moving from the realm of primordial purity to not returning to its original state is called "bardo" because it is the middle part. For example, death is the dharmakaya, and between delusion and existence, there is the bardo of reality. "Ma" represents the middle state between the two, and "do" is the name of the dharma that connects each other, just like what is known in the world as "dowo" (porter) and "lado" (glove). If divided, the king of vehicles

Here, the nature of reality, the moment of death, the nature of phenomena, and the bardo of existence are defined as four categories. The first is: Due to the bonds of the aggregates, elements, sense bases, karma, and afflictions, wisdom and the nature of reality are obscured. One grasps at permanence in impermanence, at truth in untruth, at happiness in the cause and effect of suffering, and at substance in emptiness of inherent existence. As an antidote to the four inversions that lead to the delusory appearances of samsara, the Tathagata taught the four seals of Dharma. Therefore, now, in the bardo of inherent nature, in order to be liberated from samsara, one must first train the mind by listening to the profound and essential Dharma without error, then cut through conceptual elaborations by contemplating, and finally familiarize oneself through meditation. When the time of death arrives, one should not need to grieve or have lingering attachments, but should allow the meaning to dawn naturally, like a bird returning to its nest. The second is: When death approaches, the suffering of the disintegration of the elements of the body becomes unbearable, and the ocean of karmic imprints in the mind erupts, making it impossible to relinquish attachment to this life. Regret arises from actions done out of self-will and contrary to Dharma, and the suffering of future lives looms ahead. Fear of death causes terror and confusion, and the opportunity to seek help through methods and rituals is lost. At such a time, one needs the instruction to clearly reveal what is unclear, like a beautiful woman looking in a mirror. If one is of superior capacity and has unwavering faith in the meaning of emptiness, one should rest in the natural state. Those of middling capacity should strive to transfer consciousness and purify obscurations. Those of lesser capacity, as stated in the "Inquiry of the Jewel Daughter": "Here, neither father, mother, nor friends, nor relatives and kin can save you. Sons and daughters are likewise no protection. Except for those endowed with qualities, there is no other refuge in the world." Therefore, one should take refuge solely in the Three Jewels. Moreover, in the tradition of mantra, the guide is embodied in the lama. If one's faith is sufficient, one should pray solely to the lama, blending one's mind with the lama's, and so forth. Relying on the power of others is crucial, as stated in the "Union of Sun and Moon Tantra": "If the wisdom of the dharmadhatu is unclear, in the bardo of the bliss of dharmata, in order to hold the appearance of awareness, remember the lights previously shown. Through this, one will attain the appearance of truth. If those are all unclear, one's own lama
