If doing great evil deeds and dying is a sign of death, similarly, good signs such as earthquakes may also be the birth or passing away of a holy person, or jumping from one realm to another, or attaining samadhi, etc., because these situations may be uncertain. Therefore, one must know how to measure and judge whether the inner mind at the time of living and the external good and bad signs at the time of death are consistent. As the "Adornment of Trees Sutra" says: "Look at the body for what was done before, and look at the mind for where to go after." If one does not understand these, then for those who are less learned and attached to one side, they will have doubts about cause and effect. Similarly, there are five paths to becoming a Buddha: the path of accumulation, the path of preparation, the path of seeing, the path of meditation, and the path of no more learning. Here, the Great Perfection of Naturalness takes the wisdom of the Dharmadhatu as the path, so it is the profound meaning of the Noble Path. Because of being accustomed to the wisdom of the Dharmadhatu, there will be consistent inner and outer signs that do not deceive, and the degree of liberation will also appear in body, speech, and mind. The Tantra says: "After practicing in this way, the signs and degrees are like this: the body is light, empty, and clear, soft, intangible, and unobstructed, the ability of speech is complete, the essence of speech is inexhaustible, and the mind can be transferred. The senses of the eyes, ears, nose, tongue, and body all disappear, reaching the state of no self-nature." That is to say, to explain the differences of the three mixed signs separately, it is like this: if the signs of the body are complete, one can see the truth in the bardo. If the body has the signs of speech, one can reach the pure land of the Nirmanakaya. If on top of these two, the signs of the mind are also complete, one can be liberated in the bardo in three moments. If all three signs are complete, although self-benefit has reached the ultimate, out of compassion, in order to benefit others, one will bless the life for hundreds of millions of years, and finally fully attain enlightenment. If the signs of body and mind are present, one will transform into a light body after ten years. If all three signs of body, speech, and mind are present, but this basis cannot benefit others, then after two years, one can liberate three thousand beings in the bardo at the same time, and then all phenomena return to their original state, which can be seen from the burning of the relics. Who is the diligent person? If the signs of the body are complete, one can see the truth and attain enlightenment in the Dharmata of the bardo. The body has the signs of speech, this is

In the realm of emanation, it ceases with one breath's birth. If the mind possesses signs and whatever, this is the activity of life, without interval by two births, like meteors in the sky, in the manner of running, in three moments, also with the emanation itself, it dissolves into its own nature. If the signs of body, speech, and mind are complete, this is the great Bodhicitta, possessing compassion that grasps sentient beings. Because of this grasping of sentient beings, for hundreds of thousands of millions of years, even with just one human body, one can accomplish this purpose, without falling into the cycle of birth and death, one attains perfect and complete enlightenment. Furthermore, if someone fortunate possesses the signs of body and mind, having possessed them in this way, within ten years, the elements return to their own place, and appearance itself becomes invisible.
