Commentary on Chapter Twelve Commentary on Chapter Twelve Showing the uncommon path of the Great Perfection of Naturalness. Now, in order to establish the path of the great perfection sequence of the noble path, that very nature of reality that is free from mental fabrication. Whatever leads to the non-learning union, all the qualities of the six perfections, rely correctly on the Perfection of Wisdom. That path never becomes the cause of another. That is, the last of the four stages of the learning path, gathered by the uninterrupted path, the diamond-like samadhi is called the wisdom of continuous edge. If measured from the perspective of sound and meaning, it is uninterrupted because worldly conduct does not interrupt it. It is stable because all obscurations do not invade it. It is hard because it cuts off even the subtle obscurations of knowledge. It is of one taste because it does not discriminate. Because it focuses on the suchness, which is the general characteristic of all knowable things, it is pervasive. The next moment of such wisdom, the path that leads to the state of fruition of non-learning union, is also the peak of all six perfections, and the qualities of the Perfection of Wisdom are also the complete essence, which is the Perfection of Wisdom itself, which is truly relied upon and abides. In that case, foolish people say that enlightenment can be attained by only one method, that is, by the method of emptiness. And they say that only the Perfection of Wisdom should be studied. And if one asks what remedy is there to refute the remaining perfections and to refute them, since the Great Perfection is established at the peak of the path being led in stages, there is no such fault. Just as abandoning the boat after reaching the other side of the water does not become a refutation of the boat, especially since wisdom itself is the reason for the completion of the lower path, as stated in the Sutra Requested by Brahma's Special Mind. Non-grasping is generosity. Non-guarding is discipline. Non-dwelling is patience. Non-exertion is diligence. Non-thinking is meditation. Non-objectification is wisdom. Thus. If, even after realizing such wisdom or the nature of wisdom, by clinging to the extremes of practicing the lower six perfections such as generosity, one has not reached the other shore of those,

From the chapter "Essence of Earth Wheel" in the Tenth Ground Sutra, which discusses the aspect of the two grounds not being complete, it says: "Non-attachment to that is the accumulation of merit and wisdom." Some say that the accumulation of wisdom might be so, but if the accumulation of merit is also like that, then it would cause the result of conventional truth to be cast elsewhere. Answer: It will not. When mainly practicing the path of meditation and wisdom, it is intended to transform the concordant aspects of merit into concordant aspects of liberation, and to make them inexhaustible. As stated in the Sutra of Noble Wisdom: "Bodhisattvas offer with the pinnacle of wisdom. How do the yogis and others accumulate accumulations?" The Blessed One said: "Accumulations are merit and wisdom. Accumulation is to increase greatly." Asked: "How is the accumulation of merit?" The Blessed One said: "Giving and other white dharmas, those with characteristics." Asked: "What is the accumulation of wisdom?" The Blessed One said: "Wisdom and other characteristics without characteristics." Asked: "How are these two accumulated?" The Blessed One said: "The accumulation of merit is called the accumulation of samsara, like the water in the footprint of an ox. Why? Because it is quickly destroyed, exhausted, deceives children, and after experiencing the happiness of gods and humans, one returns to the lower realms. The accumulation of wisdom is called the accumulation of nirvana, like the water of the great ocean. It is not destroyed, not exhausted, does not deceive, and enables one to attain nirvana. Pinnacle of wisdom, one should only accumulate the accumulation of wisdom." Thus it is said. Therefore, since the Perfection of Wisdom can never reverse the result into a cause, its wisdom nature, the Great Perfection path, is the ultimate instruction that directly reveals the suchness of the Perfection of Wisdom. In this way, to measure the realm of the Great Perfection, thus, the secret of all perfect Buddhas, in emptiness, the nature does not abide, and the meaning of being free from extremes is not grasped as the Middle Way, the nature is pure, and the Great Perfection is accomplished. As it is said in the Condensed Meaning of the Explanatory Tantras: Emaho, wonderful and amazing dharma, the secret of all perfect Buddhas, uncreated, uncorrupted, as it is, the nature is completely pure. Emaho!
