Since it appears to be nothing more than these, therefore, it is necessary to ascertain its nature. Just like this, if one does not single-mindedly and completely immerse oneself in the samadhi of great fruition, and does not obtain the clear and radiant light of one's own nature, then, when the flow of sense objects ceases, the consciousness is as empty as the sky, and merely the nature of non-cessation, if one makes this the object of one's mind and it becomes stable, that is the mind of the sphere of infinite space. By becoming accustomed to this state, in the appearance of consciousness, even if one makes the appearance of the infinite mind of the Mind-Only school the object of one's mind, because the purity and cessation of the six consciousnesses becomes stable, that is the mind of the sphere of infinite consciousness. Having become accustomed in this way, even the subtle feeling of knowing as Mind-Only disappears, and like a deep sleep, one sees nothing at all, this is the mind of nothingness. Like this, clinging to the mind of merely nothingness, making the mind that is neither existent nor non-existent the object of one's mind, being immersed in dense non-conceptualization, this is called the sphere of neither existence nor non-existence, which is the mind of the peak of existence. Like this, if one becomes accustomed to any of the four minds, at the time of death, one will be reborn in the corresponding four formless realms. The third is cessation: by blocking feelings and perceptions, one obtains the samadhi that blocks worldly feelings and perceptions, this is called the cessation meditation, because the elaboration of the mind is completely stopped, and the qualities of awareness are latently submerged within it. If one distinguishes, there is blocking through analysis by intellectual examination, and not examining but abiding in a state of non-conceptualization, that is, blocking through analysis and non-analysis. The first, in the Commentary on Entering the Middle Way, it says: "Here, blocking is for the sake of stopping the elaboration of the mind." The second, although the nature of reality does not conceptualize, from the aspect of the wisdom of self-nature, the compassion without an object continues uninterruptedly, therefore it benefits sentient beings. In Entering the Middle Way, it says: "Constantly meditating on the awareness of cessation, yet especially compassion arises for beings without a protector." As quoted before. Like this, these nine minds of meditation, for beginners, there is no autonomy not to arise, and if these arise, being seized by special means, then temporarily the clinging to the truth of things will be reversed. The beginning of manifest afflictions is suppressed. Gradually generating clairvoyance and supernormal powers, etc., eventually from the perfect wisdom of the great perfection of self-nature, the thoughts of real and unreal

From the perspective beyond conceptual mind, not dwelling in the front, without elaboration, the naturally arising wisdom is directly realized, and the reasons for attaining omniscience are summarized as follows: Through meditation, one abandons the contempt for desirable qualities, accomplishes clarity, direct knowledge, and samadhi. Through wisdom, after fully understanding the nature of phenomena, one will completely transcend the three realms. Thus it is said. In short, the wisdom realized by the noble ones and the meditation practiced by ordinary beings, when measured by the discriminating consciousness, may seem to have little difference, but on the level of wisdom, there is a difference like heaven and earth. Therefore, in the state of meditation, the fundamental original state is taken as the path of the mind; while in the state of wisdom, the elaboration on awareness naturally ceases, and the difference between the two must be distinguished. In this way, appearance does not taint awareness, awareness does not fall on appearance, and in between, there is no clinging to non-arising. Therefore, the connection between appearance and awareness is severed, and the object of grasping and the grasper vanish without a trace. Although the nature is clear and pure, there is no support for focused concentration. Although it transcends the eight consciousnesses, awareness does not cease to be self-illuminating. In this vast liberation, in the state of non-attachment, awareness nakedly abides, without the need for rejection or establishment, nor for expansion or contraction. Whether it arises, abides, or is neither, the three kinds of memory are like a flowing river. In an instant, there is no opportunity to accumulate the karmic imprints of cause and effect, so arising and liberation are simultaneous, like drawing a picture on water. Without losing this state, the cause of samsara in the three realms and six realms is exhausted. Therefore, in the place beyond consciousness, one occupies the stronghold of the Dharma nature, which is called the ultimate truth. As it is said in the Madhyamaka-karika: The meditation of abiding without distraction lies in the clarity of the sense gates, the mind is not disturbed by the discriminations of the mind, the mind is focused on awareness itself, and there is no outward loss. And, the nature is empty, clear awareness, not mixed with any nature, the boundaries of grasping and the grasped are exhausted, and the Dharma nature is self-purified. Thus it is said. Although this is so, one must cut off the places of error. Conceptual thought connected with an object is ordinary, but on the clear awareness like a mirror, the appearance of objects is uninterrupted, shining like stars, but if it is not tainted by conceptual thought, the mind of grasping and the grasped
