Severance. The nature of reality is equal to nirvana. This is because it is highly contradictory to the aforementioned statement. Regarding this, Saraha said: Not satisfied by enjoyment, the wisdom of suchness is, separate from actions, not an accumulation of deeds. Knowing oneself, he spoke of it by connecting arrows. All wise ones will have their hearts covered with poison. The meaning of the true nature of mind is difficult for all to realize. Thus. Therefore, the wisdom of the Buddha cannot be expressed through words, cannot be determined by terms of non-practice, and without seeing the truth, it cannot be understood literally, so it is difficult to establish self-nature. Merely relying on one aspect of Dharma and one's own way of understanding, being content with merely reaching the level of understanding, thinking "I have realized, others are mistaken," holding such views as supreme, it is difficult to obtain the direct instructions that directly reveal the true meaning with discriminating mind. One should not denigrate these people. Thus, the Great Perfection of pith instructions is that the meaning to be expressed is profound, and the language that expresses it is clear. As for the profound meaning to be expressed, for the self-awareness of the transcendent noble ones, the way of establishing the characteristics of the five aggregates as being without self-nature is as follows, from the "Union of Sun and Moon Sutra": This inconceivable aggregate is to be seen as follows: Because it gathers all meditations, it is the aggregate of samadhi; because wisdom itself exhausts all defilements, it is the aggregate of liberation wisdom; because the meaning of that appears as unborn, it is the aggregate of prajna; because all impurities are purified beforehand, it is the aggregate of morality; because it transcends all purity, it is the aggregate of liberation. Thus. Similarly, starting from the sense bases, the distinction of reversing the aspects of grasping and being grasped is also more excellent than others. As for the clear language that expresses it, in the "Madhyamaka-avatara" it says: Such a state of abiding reality, if spoken to Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, they will be extremely frightened and faint. Therefore, it should be kept extremely secret. The dharmas that do not need to be examined, because there is no place of origin, are called the basis. Because there is no abiding in it, neither existence nor emptiness abides. Light and darkness, being and non-being are not. Because there is no coming and going, no beginning or end of existence. Because it is not bound by effort and striving, it is natural and spontaneous. There is no limit, and it is not biased towards any side.

Because there is no origin, good and evil are not established. To eliminate both good and evil, one does not abide in samsara or nirvana. Because the emptiness of dharmata pervades all, in abiding in the self-nature of primordial awareness, there is no distinction of the three states. Thus it is said. In the 'Lion's Roar Perfection,' it says: Dharmakaya, non-conceptual Samantabhadri, as I am, when clear awareness looks outward at the realm of dharmata, I see the awareness free from various impurities within. When self-awareness looks outward at the realm of many, I find the great essence of the non-conceptual dharmakaya within. As exemplified by this, even relying solely on the Kunjed Gyalpo (All-Creating King), one can nakedly realize the faults of samsara and nirvana. Although this is so, in these examples, various names such as self-arisen wisdom, bodhicitta, dharmakaya, awareness, primordial purity, and freedom from elaboration are merely symbolic terms. These names are assigned only for the sake of understanding. If one does not realize the great state beyond words and mind due to the blessings and devotion of the supreme guru, then clinging to the meaning of the term 'naked self-luminous awareness' is like the Mind-Only school. One clings to the mere awareness that has not established grasper and grasped, self-awareness and self-luminosity, as the sole object, and proclaims to have truly understood the actual state of Dzogchen, which is completely false. As the Kunjed says: 'Rest in your own state, do not seek elsewhere afar. Accept effortless bliss willingly. There is nothing greater than that within. Since it is inherently so, there is no distraction, no loss. Effortless action transcends all fabrication.' Thus it is said. Therefore, the method of understanding the meaning of primordial purity and practicing it is described in the Longchen Rabjam: ཀ་(Ka, Sanskrit, Ka, Seed Syllable)means the first arising, དག་(dag, Sanskrit, dag, Purity)means collecting the limits of all defilements. Thus it is said. Furthermore, if one of supreme faculty is liberated upon seeing, directly recognizing the unaltered state of reality, then one's own nature, the great primordial purity, cannot be bound by the clinging of grasper and grasped. And when the mind merges into dharmata, there will be no distinction between right and wrong, true and false, just like the sky. Therefore, one does not meditate on emptiness, does not grasp clarity, does not conceptually analyze non-duality, does not expect liberation, does not doubt confusion, and does not accomplish through effort. The self-nature, the all-knowing awareness, is the original face free from aims and attachments.
