Fifth, the characteristic of single liberation is: the wisdom of the indivisible truth, the nature of many flavors as one great freedom from elaboration, which is contrary to the relative establishment of method and wisdom. As it is said in the Essence of the Earth: "The nature of solitary liberation is because it is the unity of many flavors." That is, although the characteristics of one and different do not arise from the aspect of Dharma nature. However, from within the realm of thought of the established tenets established by the knowable and the knower, the wisdom of self-awareness is nakedly revealed, so it is called the wisdom of a single thigle. As it is said in the Letterless: "The single thigle is free from elaboration, and the distinction of mind is beyond words." Therefore, the four previous modes of liberation, according to the order of beings' faculties, ultimately know the characteristics of liberation into one's own nature of wisdom, then all the dharmas of samsara and nirvana will be transformed into the emptiness of the great expanse of freedom. For example, knowing the characteristic of one fire and knowing the taste of one jaggery, one knows that everything is sweet. As it is said in the Commentary on the Bodhicitta: "The nature of fire is heat, the nature of jaggery is sweetness, likewise all dharmas are one in nature emptiness." Such self-awareness is the object of wisdom, so it is beyond the defiled mind. "Those who are beyond the mind are the characteristics of the Great Perfection of self-nature. Those who realize are liberated from the ground into wisdom. Unenlightened beings revolve in that very nature. If distinguished by form, like water and water bubbles." In this way, all the collections of consciousness from the alaya are called mind, because the consciousness mixed with the object arises as the grasped and the grasper, and therefore it creates samsara. As it is said in the Self-Arisen: "The grasped object is the mind." Wisdom is the nature of the Sugata-garbha, abiding unmoved from its own place free from elaboration, so it has the nature of the Dharmakaya from the beginning, it does not arise in anything, it does not think about anything, it does not abide in anything, so it is beyond the defilements of the mind. As it is said in the Pearl Rosary: "If the mind is separated, it is Buddhahood, the defilements of all sentient beings are exhausted, beings go by the mind, otherwise they cannot go, therefore beings are like a wheel turning."

Yes. In that stage of the path, the mind is merely self-luminous and non-conceptual, and the awareness is merely without object. Although the two are similar in terms of non-conceptuality, the former is mixed with the latent tendencies of the alaya, so the peg of the grasping and fixation of the mind consciousness is invisible but actually exists. The latter is the awareness that has gone beyond the trace of memory and thought, so there is a difference in realizing the liberation of samsara and nirvana. As it is said in the "Lion's Complete Power": "The alaya is the root of the mind, and self-awareness is the root of the object. There is a great error in the basis of similarity. Ignorance appears as the mind, and awareness, the two appearances of non-conceptuality, have a great error in the basis of similarity." In short, in all the vehicles of the eight stages, the adventitious mind-concept, which has never existed from the beginning, is taken as the path, like a water bubble. Therefore, in the manifestation of skill or play, various abandonments and adoptions are made, and if one is free from the defilements of the mind, it is considered wisdom. However, the Great Ati Yoga, which directly points out awareness, is to leave the natural state of awareness undisturbed by the waves of ignorance with the eight consciousnesses, and without relying on various abandonments and adoptions of the adventitious mind-concept, such as drawing a picture on water or the appearance of a bubble, one directly cultivates the awareness of the ground. As it is said in "Self-Arisen": "The example of awareness and ignorance is like water and a picture, depending on conditions." It is also said: "The example of mind and awareness is like water and a bubble. It is not controlled by the mind." This is how it is explained. Showing that the way of that example is connected with the meaning: Although mind and awareness are the same only in terms of non-conceptuality, awareness is empty and clear without self-nature, while the mind is confused and swirling like a whirlpool. Awareness is like the moon in the empty sky, clear to the bottom, while the mind is like the fifteenth moon, mixed with objects. Purity and objectlessness are the qualities of awareness, while complete mixing with objects is the difference of the mind. In the state of resting in equanimity, although the two, mind and awareness, are the same only in terms of non-conceptuality, in the nature of awareness, it is empty and clear, free from obscurations and veils, so it does not rely on the mind and is beyond view, meditation, cause, and effect. As it is said in the "Lion's Complete Power": "Awareness is spontaneously accomplished without cultivation. If one cultivates, one will not find me. Self-arisen, naturally uncorrected. If one examines, one will not see me. The Dharmakaya is naturally free from extremes. If one looks, one will not see me." So it is said.
