It will also become the opposite. The uncertain will become certain, and the uncertain is certain. Because one's own uncertainty is inherent. If it is certain, it is like the end of karma. Aren't these things to be understood? That's what the Buddha said. So it is said. Fourth, it is also unreasonable to consider certainty as the real basis of meaning. If it is thought that certainty comes after realizing that basis, then before realization, there must be a basis for realization, which is nirvana. This is the same as the eternal view of the heretics, and it contradicts the desire to be liberated from causes and conditions. If it is the basis even without realization, then how does one know it is the basis? If it is said that it is known because the nature of samsara is nirvana, then if the nature is nirvana, then the initial liberation is not necessary, just as the nature of water is moisture, and there is no need to change it now. As it was said before, when showing the "basis of certainty," this is not the real essence either. For example, to those with yellow eyes, a conch appears yellow. Through the difference of self-reversal, the nature is dualistic, free from the edge of certainty. Therefore, that is not correct either. Or, because the cause is certain and the result is certain, there is no difference from the permanence of the self. Aren't these things to be understood? What was said is the same as above. So it is said. Fifth, it is also unreasonable to be able to transform into anything. Transform into permanence? Transform into impermanence? It cannot be transformed into permanence, just as the sky cannot be cut. There is no need to transform into impermanence, because even if it does not change, change is the law of nature. Therefore, if the basis can be changed, then the result will become the cause, matter will become mind, and mind will also become matter, as it was said before, the previously said "can be changed," if one's own state can be changed, then this is also uncertain. Because the result will become the cause, all efforts are unnecessary. Because of repeated changes, matter will become mind, just as it cannot become that. Aren't these things to be understood? What was said is the same as above. So it is said. Sixth, it is also unreasonable to accept anything. Accepting that a rabbit's horn and a barren woman's son can also create samsara and nirvana, etc., will lead to limitless faults. As it was said before, in accordance with accepting everything, what the Buddha said before, these are just one-sided attractions, in order to establish everything in the mind.

Because there is the fault of change that cannot be touched, is this not also knowable? What the Buddha said is the same as before. Thus it is. Seventh, it is also unreasonable to think of the basis as diverse. If the diverse is thought to be external appearance, then the fault of the single basis appearing as many cannot be avoided. If it is thought to be internal awareness, then just as awareness thinks "it is awareness," the basis also becomes thinking "it is the basis," and if it is thought that these two are a collection, then that basis is also an object to be grasped externally, and a mind to be grasped internally, because they are mutually related as support and supported, it is impossible to be a single essence, as said before: The Buddha previously said it was variegated, this is inconsistent with the doctrine, the previous entity is appearance, the fruits are different, the meaning is said in this way, because the sound of many diminishes it, is this not also knowable? What was said is also the same. Thus it is. Therefore, these seven bases are like many blind people clinging to understanding one aspect of wisdom with knowledge that grasps at the end, like describing the shape of an elephant. In the Heart Essence Sutra it says: The king gathered many blind people and showed them an elephant, and then ordered them to describe the characteristics of the elephant individually. Then, those who touched the elephant's trunk said: It is like a hook. Those who touched the eyes said: It is like a bowl. Those who touched the ears said: It is like a winnowing basket. Those who touched the back said: It is like a bed. Those who touched the tail said: It is like a rope. The blind people did not say anything other than the elephant, but they did not fully understand it either. Similarly, the nature of the Buddha, although emptiness, illusion, luminosity, and other different things are said, it is not fully understood either. It is like this. Second, acknowledging that the basis of primordial purity and spontaneous perfection is inseparable and without fault: Here, the essence is pure from the beginning, the qualities are spontaneously perfect, not one nor different. Because it is free from the elaboration of things and characteristics, it is primordially pure; because it is deeply clear and without obstruction, it is spontaneously perfect. That is, because the essence is primordially pure, from the perspective of emptiness, things and characteristics are not established; because the nature is spontaneously perfect, from the perspective of appearance, it is deeply clear and without obstruction, therefore it also abandons the extremes of permanence and annihilation. In the Six Spaces it says: Because the essence itself is primordially pure.
