However, one does not see the objects to be tamed by one's own appearances, but one sees the difference of what arises from them, therefore, in order to distinguish between what is the same and what is different, as it is said in the 'Lion's Power Perfection': 'The nature of Vajrasattva, and the two pure self-appearing mandalas, have the same basis but a great divergence.' Thus, if one does not distinguish between the inner sphere and the outer manifestation or the aspect of phenomena, and considers the three kayas to be the result of self-appearance, then it follows that just as the nirmanakaya appears to the beings to be tamed, the dharmakaya of original purity, the place of liberation, should also appear to the beings to be tamed, because the three kayas are one in essence. The dharmakaya should appear as rays and colors, because the sambhogakaya and nirmanakaya, which are one in essence with you, manifest this dharma. Or, the nirmanakaya should not appear to the beings to be tamed, because the dharmakaya does not appear. Therefore, the three kayas are one in essence in awareness, but it is not admitted that they are one in essence in form. The nirmanakaya is a part of compassion, and the phenomena that it emanates are image emanations, not real nirmanakayas, because they are not compassion. The differences between the philosophical schools are also very subtle, and those with wisdom should discern and understand them. This is an important key, it is said. Third, the characteristics of the dharmakaya are: the activity of the mind ceases in the realm of knowable objects, the conventional clinging of the knowing mind is abandoned, the individual self-awareness does not fall into the extremes of permanence or annihilation, the subtle wisdom merges without obscuration, the basis of the body and wisdom is the uninterrupted knowing aspect, seen by those who are in perfect equanimity, and that which is pacified is called the dharmakaya. The essence of the dharmakaya is the self-born wisdom, clear within, free from all elaboration, yet it becomes the blueprint for the wisdom of omniscience, as it is said in the 'Root Tantra of Magical Illusion': 'The most subtle wisdom is clear within, the dharmakaya is the blueprint without object.' That is, the activity of the mind and thought ceases in the external knowable objects, and all the conventional clinging of the internal knowing mind is naturally pacified in the state of no arising or ceasing, and all the interdependent arising of samsara, which arises from the clinging of the mind and mental factors included in the three realms, ceases, and the suchness of the basis of cessation is self-aware, not falling into either extreme of permanence or annihilation, and manifests as the body of self-born great wisdom.

The present state. From the *Entering the Bodhisattva's Deeds*: "Having burned all the dry firewood of knowable objects, pacified, that is the Dharmakāya of the Victors. At that time, there is no birth and no cessation. The cessation of mind is directly realized by the body." This is not like a nihilistic emptiness, so in the time of the Dharmakāya, the omniscient wisdom is deep and difficult to fathom. The inner clarity is absorbed and not obscured, like the moon in the sky setting into space. Although it is not visible to other appearances, from that, in order to manifest the Form Body's omniscience, the radiance of wisdom never ceases, that is, the appearance of wisdom. Circling in the *dhātu*, it is not seen. It is not that it does not exist, but because it is subtle. Like the moon before the first day of the month. Deep, peaceful, and extremely subtle." And from the *Klong Drug Pa*: "Abiding in the ground of great, clear depth, empty by pervasion and the nature of pervasion. Without cutting off from the expanse, the part of the clarifying appearance does not cease." Such a *dharmatā* is directly realized by those with a wisdom body, so it is said to be seen by those who are extremely abiding, which also means seen by the Buddhas who are never not abiding. From the *Ārya Saṃcaya Sūtra*: "Speaking in the language of beings, 'seeing space.' How to contemplate the meaning of seeing space? Likewise, the Tathāgata taught seeing *dharma*." That is, if established from the basis of characteristics, it is peaceful from the aspect of not touching the four extremes and not entering the object. When the activities of the two Form Bodies are not manifest, it is called *dharma* because of the connection with the stainless Suchness of the Dharmakāya ground. Although there are no characteristics such as face and hands, the nature of awareness does not change, and from the aspect of all aggregates being gathered into the *dhātu*, it is called Dharmakāya. As it is said in the *Klong Drug Pa*: "Alas! Teacher Samantabhadra, when the activities of the Buddhas are not manifest, how does the teacher abide? What is the method of teaching discipline?" The Buddha said: "When the activities of all the Buddhas are not manifest, my body is called 'all aggregates gathered into one,' not manifest, not scattered, not taken, not abandoned, not distinguished, not grasped, not abiding, not changing, not obvious, not clear, not acting, not releasing, not thinking, not touching, not gathering, appearing in a non-empty manner. Emptiness has no elaboration of objects, clarity has no extremes of existence or non-existence.
