In the pristine awareness, clear as a mirror, the field of appearances is unceasing, radiant like stars. Yet, if not veiled by the mind of conceptualization, when the object of grasping and the grasping mind sever their connection, now, one has arrived at the ground of the wisdom of the supreme guru, that is, the individually self-aware, non-conceptual. However, even those nine samādhis whose main focus is gathering the mind inward, if not seized by a special means, although temporarily obtaining qualities such as clairvoyance and extrasensory perception, they will not transcend the nature of samsara. Ordinary attachments of the five senses wander in the realm of the six consciousnesses, or, even if not, holding the views of sound-thought and the object of attachment as supreme, since the aspects of the mind are not pacified, even if one superimposes interpretations on profound instructions such as the Prajñāpāramitā or Madhyamaka, they are very far from the meaning of profound peace, freedom from elaboration, and the unconditioned. Even more than the Prajñāpāramitā, the Bhagavan said: "If an arhat thinks, 'I have attained arhatship,' then that very thought becomes an attachment to self. He will be attached to sentient beings, attached to life, and attached to individuals." Therefore, one should combine and apply the four noble truths. For that reason: "Abandoning thought, non-thought, perception, and grasping, enter into this with a mind like the sky." Therefore, the views of mind and mental activity are contrary to the unchanging nature of reality, which is without inherent existence. Thus, those who have seen the noble truths have abandoned them from afar. In the Ārya Ratnakūṭa Sūtra: "If there is no awareness of emptiness anywhere, it is like the tracks of birds in the sky. If there is no inherent existence anywhere, it will never become the cause of anything else. That whose inherent existence cannot be found, how can it be found by another, since it is without inherent existence? What can be produced by another, since it is without inherent existence? That cause is the teaching of the Sugata." And in the Bodhicaryāvatāra: "When things and non-things do not remain before the mind, then, since there is no other aspect, it is utterly pacified, without an object of focus." Therefore, the clarity of awareness, like the power of a mirror, is unceasing in its manifestation, like stars scattered across the ocean.

The appearance of phenomena like reflections in a mirror, appearing as the merit of uninterrupted sensory capacity, yet, at the moment of appearance, its self-nature is emptiness, hence it is shown that form is emptiness. However, merely in name, the appearance as form is not interrupted, hence it is shown that emptiness is form. If one thinks that the aspect of its object of apprehension is tainted by the mind, then since it is the grasping part generated by the horse of wind, it is not connected with the object. It does not distinguish between the cause and effect of the subject. It does not observe the state of the dharma-nature. It does not cling to the non-existence of the object of knowledge, but rather each individual's awareness wisdom, in the aspect of non-discrimination, is protected by the naturally arising mindfulness, so that the impurities of the inner and outer elements also become self-purified. In the reductio ad absurdum, it says: After purity between existence and non-existence, it is as pure as the objects of the five senses, the grossness of the elements is purified, and the wisdom is purified, showing the appearance of increase. From that arises the dharma-nature of exhaustion. Thus it is. Such ultimate realization is the path of the three times' Buddhas, the way to the land of the wisdom guru, in the "Inexhaustible Treasure" it says: Do not discriminate anywhere, do not think about anything. Do not fabricate, leave it naturally relaxed. That which is unfabricated is the inexhaustible treasure. It is the path of all the Buddhas of the three times. Thus it is. Now, the lower five paths, which cling to cause and effect as pure liberation, the spontaneously perfect Great Perfection, the inseparable truth of dharma-nature, the way to summarize the meaning of the five paths beyond conceptual mind. In short, the path of space is the one dharma-nature. The path of awareness is the special wisdom. The path of clear light is the two lamps. The path of trekchö is simultaneous arising and liberation. The path of tögal is space and awareness. Among these, the first aspect, the self-nature of space, is profound because it cannot be touched by names and objects of knowledge. It is peaceful because wisdom and thought have not arisen. It is free from elaboration because it transcends existence and non-existence, truth and falsehood. It is luminous because the radiance of self-nature is uninterrupted. It is unconditioned because it is unchanging in the three times. The Buddha, the Lord of Sages, said: Profound, peaceful, free from elaboration, luminous, unconditioned, I have found a dharma like nectar. This is clearly shown. Such space is shown in this instruction lineage to possess three characteristics. In the "Self-Arisen" it says: The wisdom of the dharma-dhatu is the realm of great emptiness.
