Or, with regard to the view of Dzogchen, merely holding onto it verbally with fondness and self-importance, but from the perspective of the way of realization, although similar, it is not so, because they do not go beyond the category of the single mind of samsara. Therefore, it is necessary to ascertain its nature. Like this, if one cannot single-mindedly focus on the great-fruit samadhi, thereby finding the deep, clear, self-luminous radiance, then the consciousness of the cessation of the flow of sense objects is like the sky, empty. If one merely clings to the nature of non-cessation, then it is the mind of the sphere of infinite space. By becoming accustomed to this state, in the aspect of consciousness, although one may contemplate the infinite clarity of the Mind-Only school, if the clarity of the six aggregates ceases and becomes stable, then it is the mind of the sphere of infinite consciousness. By becoming accustomed to this, even the subtle feeling of knowing as Mind-Only will vanish, and like a deep sleep, nothing will be seen, which is the mind of nothingness. Like this, the mind that clings to mere nothingness, by contemplating that it is not established as either existent or non-existent, one will be overwhelmed by a dense non-conceptual state, which is called the sphere of neither existence nor non-existence, which is the mind of the peak of existence. Like this, if one becomes accustomed to any of these four minds, at the time of death, one will be born in the corresponding four formless realms. The third is cessation: By blocking feelings and perceptions, one obtains the samadhi of ceasing worldly feelings and perceptions, which means that the elaborations of the mind are completely stopped, and the qualities of awareness are latently carried along. In terms of distinctions, there is cessation through examining after investigating with intellectual analysis, and non-investigation, abiding in a non-conceptual state, which is cessation distinguished by whether or not there is investigation. The first, as stated in the commentary on the "Entering the Middle Way": "Here, cessation is for the purpose of ceasing the elaborations of the mind." The second, although the nature of reality does not conceptualize, from the aspect of self-existing wisdom, because the compassion without an object of focus is continuous, it benefits sentient beings, as stated in the "Entering the Middle Way": "Although one is always in the samadhi of cessation, greater compassion arises for beings who are without protectors." As quoted earlier. Like this, these nine minds of samadhi, for beginners, do not have the autonomy not to arise, and if such a mind arises and is seized by a special method, then temporarily the clinging to the truth of phenomena will be reversed, the outbreak of afflictions...

Oh! Furthermore, generating eyes and clairvoyance, gradually reaching the perfect wisdom of the Great Perfection of self-nature, from the true wisdom of insight, for the conceptual mind of reality and unreality, not dwelling before consciousness, directly realizing the wisdom of self-arising free from elaboration, thereby becoming the cause of obtaining omniscience, the reason is summarized as: With meditation, one abandons the defilement of desire, accomplishes clarity, clairvoyance, and samadhi. With wisdom, one completely knows the self-nature of all dharmas, thereby completely transcending the three realms. So it is said. In short, the wisdom realized by the noble ones and the meditation practiced by ordinary beings, if measured by the discriminating consciousness, seem to have only a slight difference. However, in the realm of wisdom, there is a difference like heaven and earth. Therefore, it is necessary to distinguish between the state of meditation, where the mind takes the basic abiding as the path, and the state of wisdom, where the elaboration on clarity is self-extinguished. Thus, appearance does not stain awareness, awareness does not fall on appearance, and in between, there is no clinging to non-arising. Therefore, the connection between appearance and awareness is severed, and the grasper and the grasped dissolve into nowhere. Although the self-nature is clear and bright, there is no support for concentration. Although it has transcended the eight consciousnesses, awareness does not cease in the self-illuminating state. In the state of unobstructed non-attachment, awareness abides naked and bare, without the need for rejection or acceptance, expansion or contraction. Therefore, whether it is appearance, abiding, or neither of the two, the memory flows like a river. In the brief moment of an instant, there is no space to accumulate the habits of cause and effect connected before and after. Therefore, arising and liberation are simultaneous, like drawing a picture on water, without losing its state. The cause of samsara in the three realms and six realms is exhausted. Therefore, in the state beyond consciousness, the stronghold of Dharma-nature has been occupied, which is the meaning of transcendence. So it is said: The meditation that does not dwell in confusion, when the doors of the senses are clear, is not moved by the discrimination of consciousness. The consciousness that observes awareness itself does not scatter outwards. So it is said. The awareness of emptiness and clarity of essence is not mixed with any self-nature. The boundaries of the grasper and the grasped are exhausted, and the Dharma-nature is pure in its own essence. So it is said. Although it is so, the way to cut off its faults: If discrimination is connected with the object, it is ordinary.
