If the wind stirs the mind, not allowing it to settle even for a moment, then one must diligently cultivate meditation. As stated in the *All-Creating King* (Kun byed): "Duality and non-duality are both pure; meditation and non-meditation are merely names." That is, focusing the mind on the object of focus, like a lamp flame undisturbed by the wind, one enters into samadhi, the one-pointedness of mind in calm abiding. As stated in the *Ornament of the Sutras*: "Having fixed the mind on the object of focus, do not let it wander elsewhere." And in the *Noble Samadhi Sutra*: "If one places the mind on the nature of things as they are, and experiences it without naming, that is called samadhi." Thus, having gained stability on the object of focus in calm abiding, one should then train in insight (vipassanā), which realizes the profound nature of reality: peaceful, free from all elaboration, naturally luminous, and the emptiness that is like the nectar of one's own wisdom. As stated in the *Questions of Maitreya*: "Having accomplished calm abiding, one should train in insight." Its characteristic is also described in the *Heap of Jewels Sutra*: "O Light Protector, what is the wisdom of discriminating awareness of all phenomena? It is the diligence of thoroughly searching for the mind." Therefore, looking at the unborn nature of the mind, all appearances that arise as power or delusion, which have never existed in the appearance of duality but merely appear as names, are not liberated in their own nature but are projected onto external objects. The delusion of being accustomed to grasping at external objects only increases in strength. There is no other way than to recognize the weakness of their inherent non-existence with the sharp wisdom of discriminating awareness. As stated in the *Akashagarbha Sutra*: "By one phenomenon, all phenomena are known to be like illusions and mirages, ungraspable, unaccumulable, false, and impermanent. If one thus follows awareness, one will soon go to the heart of enlightenment." Thus, the qualities of the state of familiarizing oneself with calm abiding and insight are also described in the *Noble Cloud of Jewels Sutra*: "Calm abiding subdues the afflictions, and insight completely purifies the afflictions." Thus, through familiarizing oneself with the wisdom of insight, that is, discriminating awareness, the objects of distraction arise as the nature of reality, just as one cannot find earth or stones in the Golden Isle (Suvarṇadvīpa).

Similarly, whatever thoughts of mind and mental factors arise, there is no need to abandon or cultivate them. In the meditation of self-abiding awareness, appearance and mind are inseparable, appearing in the vast expanse of the ground-liberated space. Therefore, from the precious heap of the way of being free from fixed meditation sessions, it is said: "Self-nature meditation is uninterrupted, without sinking or agitation, it is very wonderful!" Also, in "Self-Arising," it says: "The ungrasping Dharma-nature, the self-illuminating bliss of space, without thought, pervading space, enjoying all Dharma-nature. The ungrasping Dharma-nature is pure in its own place, the self-liberation without thought, the power of bliss, the self-appearance without distraction, pervades all. The true Dharma-nature descends to the ground of great bliss." Thus, when meditating, as the supreme of methods, whatever thoughts arise, do not measure them, do not cultivate them, do not follow them, remain in the natural state, without changing, and you will obtain all the merits of clear senses, such as the eyes of the gods, the eyes of the Buddhas, and clairvoyance. From the moment that the wisdom of insight arises, whatever thoughts arise, do not suppress them, do not cultivate them with effort, and do not follow them. Like this, if you suppress thoughts, you will fall into one side of calm abiding; if you cultivate with effort, you will lose the nature of insight; if you follow thoughts, you will not be able to cut off the root of thoughts, and there will be no difference from ordinary people. Similarly, if you deliberately suppress the senses and sense consciousnesses, you will not obtain the five eyes, such as the eyes of the gods, and the six clairvoyances, such as the clairvoyance of the mind, and the merits of clear senses. Among them, the six clairvoyances come from the Vajrasattva Magical Net: "Always knowing the four times, knowing all the continuity of mind, seeing all with the magical eye, hearing all with the magical ear, performing benefits everywhere with the magical conduct, and the great clairvoyance that completely perfects the unpolluted Samantabhadra conduct." That is to say, knowing the four times, you can remember past lives; magical conduct is the ability to transform into whatever is needed; unpolluted is the pure vision of wisdom, and the other three are easy to understand. Therefore, although the object appears before the senses, the sense consciousness does not conceptualize the object, this is called non-elaboration yoga, as the great Brahmin said: "As long as the senses fall into the city of objects,
