Cause and effect are pure and equal, truth is undifferentiated, grasping and being grasped are self-extinguished, birth and cessation are completely clear, not scattering outwards, not clinging inwards, not dwelling in between, not fabricated by the mind. In moments of distraction, one does not know error; in moments of error, one is self-aware. All that is said is self-contradictory, therefore cut off from the path of words; all that is thought falls into elaboration, therefore abiding in a state of not knowing one's own face. The Vajrasattva Heart Mirror says: "Know that all dharmas of awareness are free from the mind of self-grasping." Even so, those who hope for a dharma nature fabricated by the mind may feel fear towards such a meaning. The Compendium says: "Having destroyed and abandoned conceptualizations, one goes to the other shore." The intention of this is to engage in revealing one's own shortcomings of not having fully understood. Such a key point, if one becomes accustomed to abiding in the dharmadhatu throughout one's life, then at the moment of the dissolution of the illusory body's eggshell, awareness will soar in the sky of the dharmakaya. In this state, the nirmanakaya garuda will effortlessly accomplish the benefit of beings to be tamed. The Lion's Perfect Strength says: "Within the self-nature of all sentient beings, the essence of pure wisdom abides. But because of vast appearances, it is not realized, like the confinement of the womb and the eggshell. Although obscured and not manifest, it appears as if self-strength is perfected. As soon as this body of conceptual thought is abandoned, self-appearance will meet with the external realm. The self-awareness that has always been present, its essence will be seen as non-conceptual. The appearance of pure wisdom and the truth of the Buddhas will be seen. The essence of wisdom's self-appearance is without the conceptual thought of the mind. The past realm and the future realm, their appearances will be directly cut off." So it is said. If one does not understand in this way, then in the self-experience of knowing without confusing dharma and the individual, combined with the way of introducing, the way of reversing error from the root awareness, the three self-natures of mind, and the twenty-one wisdom self-natures including awareness's self-appearance, the first is in the self-nature's adornment: Emaho! By introducing appearance as mind, the mind becomes familiar. By introducing mind as emptiness, emptiness increases in bliss. By introducing emptiness as awareness, awareness itself is inseparable from the realm and wisdom. As it is said. The first, grasping the self-characteristics of external appearances as mind, although not like the truly existent as asserted by the Mind-Only school, both appearance and non-appearance are grasped by the mind.

Therefore, first, the mind that appears to the object of perception is determined as the mind that recognizes the object, and then the mind that discriminates its differences as mental factors, thereby severing the root of acceptance and rejection from the naturally arising appearance of the object-consciousness. As stated in the Root Wisdom Treatise: "In the nature of the object, various appearances arise spontaneously, names and colors are different, and they become the two aspects of form." Secondly, by examining the nature of what appears as mind and mental factors, it is not established in any aspect such as color, shape, or the three states of arising, ceasing, and abiding. Although it appears as emptiness, the nature of non-objectification, it is liberated from the object of viewing as annihilation. Therefore, it appears in the clear and pure inner realm of self-luminous emptiness, thereby severing the root of the grasped and the grasper. If one becomes accustomed to this state, the realm appearance of luminosity will also manifest incidentally, as the instruction says: "By the emptiness that is originally non-existent, phenomena are self-exhausted, and light appears. By the emptiness that is free from action, the light that represents the three bodies is found." Thirdly, that emptiness which is purified in the realm of the grasped and the grasper is also not empty and devoid of anything. Because it is clear and without objects, it is called the wisdom of individual self-awareness. From the aspect of awareness, it has not fallen into annihilation; from the aspect of nature, it does not abide in permanence. The wisdom of the ground, which transcends all examples such as self-knowing and other-knowing, is the true nature of reality of all Buddhas, seen as one. As stated in the Lion's Roar Perfection: "The self-awareness that is originally present, its nature is seen as non-conceptual. The appearance of pure wisdom, the truth of the Buddha is seen." Thus, the instruction on how to reverse delusion from appearance refers to the analogy of searching for the depths of awareness from the depths of the mind, and it is shown in relation to the meaning. This is superior to the common instruction on the mind that does not distinguish between appearance and the object of appearance. In this way, the third key point, introducing emptiness as awareness, is to first seek out the faults of the mind of appearance, and then establish the suchness of emptiness in the nature of awareness in a way that is not reversed. If one does not know how to bring forth the awareness that is pure from the beginning, then one will conceptually cling to the profound view of suchness, and thus...
