The standard for measuring through dreams is: As stated in the Secret Sound Tantra: The best cut off, the middling know, the worst are sure to change. This is clear. The three assurances of attainment are: If cause and effect are reversed, the unborn fruit will be attained, because there is no cause to produce it. Therefore, on the basis of not being deluded from the beginning, due to the reversal of the cause and effect of dependent origination, there is assurance that samsara is impossible in the knowable. If the alaya is completely cut off, one will truly manifest enlightenment, because the dharmakaya is originally pure. This means that when awareness is liberated in the basic space, due to the cutting off of the root of the alaya, there is assurance that there is no obstacle to becoming enlightened. If one is very happy with the actions of killing and cutting off, true virtue will increase, because awareness is separated from life. Therefore, for the state of annihilating the basis of delusion in its own place, since good and evil are not established, even the consciousness with the five heinous crimes can be subdued simply by entrusting awareness. As it says in the Blaze Tantra: By nailing down with three attainments, the contaminated aggregates will not appear. Thus, if the practice of connecting original purity and spontaneous accomplishment becomes the key, then the three kayas of the Great Perfection tradition will be perfected in the path appearance. Like this, since the essence is originally pure, the dharmakaya has no change; since spontaneous accomplishment appears as the sambhogakaya and nirmanakaya, the fruit is not placed in the future. The discussion on this is explained in detail in the Burning Relic Body Tantra, but here it cannot be carried by the burden of words. Like this, the way to practice continuously day and night is: During the day, look at the manifest with the attitude of an elephant, and let the illusory appearances be self-extinguished; at night, entrust awareness to the lamp of the empty bindu, and when the bindu increases, the clarity of awareness also increases, because it is self-power; when the bindu decreases, awareness also becomes more and more subtle, and finally abides in a state of non-objectification. When falling asleep, entrust the mind to the white conch of the brain; when in deep sleep, entrust the mind to the light inside the heart, thereby learning to liberate into light in dreams. At dawn, when just waking up, with the attitude of a lion, in the emptiness of space that is nothing at all, entrust the clarity of awareness to the white A-character bindu of dependent origination, without scattering the mind to the extreme of existence, and abide without falling into the seer and the seen.

One will be liberated from the prison of meditations that are similar and dissimilar. From the Sixth Sphere: 'Having straightened the posture of the body, cast awareness into the expanse of the sky. Likewise, the eyes should gaze into space like an elephant. Establish vast non-mentation. Thus, entrust awareness to the sky. Without separating from this, whatever the yogi continuously meditates upon, during the day, the appearances will increase. During the night, in one's own dwelling, in order to measure the equality of the four times, having gathered the doors of the senses, on the lamp of the empty bindu, the one endowed with yoga places the mind. When the bindu itself increases, awareness itself is also entrusted to increase. Likewise, when the bindu becomes subtle, the bindu becomes more and more subtle, and awareness is placed more and more subtly. By the key of sleep and dreams, uproot the habitual tendencies of past clinging from their root. Thus, during all the times of the night, one endowed with the fortune of yoga should practice. This will cause appearances to naturally increase.' Thus it is said. Furthermore, among the four methods of abiding in all ways, the first unwavering abiding is like the ocean still. For example, when the ocean is not stirred by the wind, the planets and stars appear as if scattered on a chessboard, but the planets and stars do not stain the water, and the planets and stars do not move from their own positions. Likewise, awareness should be completely entrusted to the objectless. The radiance of the senses is not cut off, but the mind is not turned to thoughts. Each knows individually, but there is no discriminating consciousness. The field of appearances is not interrupted, but one cannot determine its category. Therefore, compared to the former: 'The doors of the senses are clear, but there is no thought of the mind.' Thus it is said. Furthermore, the essence of that nature does not abide in anything, but emptiness is not grasped as separate. The self-nature is free from action, but it has not fallen into indifference. The manifestation of power is not interrupted, but it has gone beyond the object of clinging. From the Letterless: 'The meaning of the ocean-like stillness is: It is not appearance, nor is it making appear. It is not emptiness, nor is it existing in emptiness. It is not clarity, but the realm of great clarity. It is not sinking, nor is there naturally no agitation. It does not move, it does not change; it does not act, it does not move, it transcends all action. If one does not grasp the direction aimed at the object, like the stars rising in the depths of the ocean, without grasping, clear and uninterrupted, that is how the abiding of the meaning is.'
