Thus it is said. Second, Rigpa Cogzhuk (明觉任运自如,Clarity left as it is): Once rigpa is recognized, the way of liberation through the simultaneous arising of the senses means that there can be no mental constructs of philosophical tenets, and by experiencing the taste of the natural state without clinging, the support for reverting to the three realms is exhausted. As it says in the Madhyamaka: "The meaning of the holy is free from mind, when one is liberated all at once at the beginning, one's own philosophical tenets are destroyed, without clinging or grasping to anything, having tasted the true nature of reality, without the support for reverting to the three realms, like space dissolving into space, so is the supreme yogi." Thus it is said. Therefore, since rigpa itself has its own inherent samadhi, there is no need to strive for the artificiality of bliss, clarity, and non-conceptuality. Since there is nothing to grasp in the primordially pure rigpa, there is no need for later mental clinging and fabrication. The vast expanse of self-liberation, without any interval, inner or outer, is left in its own place. And when it is connected with Tögal, the light of rigpa arises like a sheep's intestine, and the practice of vipashyana and many others become one taste. As it says in the Wordless Book: "The instruction of Rigpa Cogzhuk, this is the secret essence." Thus it is said. "The view of the single cut of appearances is to seek the way of resting in rigpa itself. This is the great secret of secrets, liberating others through the power of appearances, not bound by attachment, it is self-arisen appearance." Thus it is said. Third, Nangwa Cherzhuk (显现直视任运,Appearances Stared at Directly): The clarity of rigpa is like a mirror, it is the basis for all appearances, so even if you try to block it, it cannot be blocked, because it is the power of unobstructedness. Even if you try to accomplish it, it cannot be accomplished, because it will naturally revert to the unborn. Therefore, do not deliberately gather what is known and what appears, like measuring, do not block it with antidotes, do not withdraw it to its own ground, but leave it staring openly, so that it cannot transcend the state of dharmata. As it says in the Heap of Jewels: "When phenomena appear as signs, my qualities naturally appear, do not accept or reject this." Thus it is said. As it says in the Wordless Book: "The rigpa of Vajrasattva stared at directly, shows all the appearances of the dharmakaya. By staring at the appearances of pure wisdom, the secret way of resting, in the state of staring at the way of resting, the appearances of the kaya, the five elements are not abandoned, not abandoned, rest in their own meaning." Thus it is said. The meaning of this method is to practice the inseparability of appearance and awareness as one taste.

Thus, if one does not understand and merely stares at whatever arises, it is said that consciousness is possessed by the demon of distraction. One does not understand the key point of thoughts becoming the basis of confusion. Even if one holds to one's own ground, it is a mistaken antidote, like a worm bound by its own saliva. Furthermore, there are many who say that they hold abiding as the essence and cultivate non-thought, or that they view appearances as play and cultivate spontaneous liberation. This is because practicing one thing as two contradictory things becomes dualistic, and is called a meditator who gnaws at birth and death. The All-Creating King says, "If one does not recognize what has been done, and strives to accomplish and looks for accomplishment, there is no greater obstacle to enlightenment than that." So, how should it be? The terms "one's own face" and "play" are mainly mentioned when distinguishing the basis of confusion from the appearance of confusion. Once awareness is recognized, and in higher seeing, the state of knowing that reality is like a river and waves, or a mirror and reflections, it is merely a characteristic of the transformation of one thing. Therefore, whether it is appearance, arising, abiding, or engaging in conceptual thought, at any time, by holding the naked, clear awareness as one's own face, the connection of the thoughts of the three times is severed. This is called the reality of the self-abiding Dharmakaya, each being self-knowing wisdom. As the Sixth Space says, "Whoever does not grasp the past, does not take the future, and leaves the present consciousness in its own place, all consciousnesses mix together as one without before or after, and is called one united essence, one taste. The equality of the three times is the yoga of awareness." The mindfulness here is not grasping mindfulness, so awareness does not rely on a stake. Ignorance refers to distraction, forgetfulness, wandering, and confusion, so the radiance of higher seeing is not pure. Buddha is awareness, so in order to sever the connection of the three times, one should know the meaning of not making any adjustments. Like this, through familiarizing oneself with the three methods of settling, the fourth, the mountain-like settling, arises naturally. When the mind abides in the state of the nature of reality, and one gains unwavering confidence like a mountain, the various circumstantial appearances cannot shake it like the wind. As the Wordless Scripture says, "The mountain-like settling is a secret view. There is no doubt, and movement naturally ceases." In short, the reality of Dzogchen is the complete view.
