Or, having realized the nature of wisdom, if one clings to the edges of practicing the lower six perfections such as generosity, then one will not reach their other shore, nor will one complete the two accumulations. The Tenth Chapter of the Essence of Earth Sutra states: "Not fixating on this is the accumulation of merit and wisdom." Some say that it may be possible to say that about the accumulation of wisdom, but if the accumulation of merit is also said that way, then the result of conventional truth will be cast elsewhere. It will not, because in the stage of mainly practicing meditation and the path of wisdom, it is intended to transform the merit portion into the liberation portion, making it inexhaustible. As stated in the Holy Wisdom Sutra: "Bodhisattva Wisdom Spike asked: 'Virtuous ones, how do yogis accumulate accumulations?' The Buddha said: 'Accumulations are merit and wisdom.' Accumulation is to increase. Asked: 'How is the accumulation of merit?' The Buddha said: 'Giving and other white dharmas with characteristics.' Asked: 'What is the accumulation of wisdom?' The Buddha said: 'Wisdom and other dharmas without characteristics.' Asked: 'How are these two accumulated?' The Buddha said: 'The accumulation of merit is called the accumulation of samsara, like the water in a cow's hoofprint.' Why? Because it quickly disappears, is exhausted, deceives children, and after experiencing the happiness of gods and humans, one will again fall into the evil realms of samsara. The accumulation of wisdom is called the accumulation of nirvana, like the water of the great ocean, it does not disappear, does not run out, does not deceive, and enables one to attain nirvana.' Wisdom Spike, one should only accumulate the accumulation of wisdom." Therefore, the Prajnaparamita can never turn the result into the cause, so its wisdom nature, the Great Perfection path, is the ultimate instruction that directly reveals the reality of the Prajnaparamita. In order to measure the realm of the Great Perfection in this way, it is said: Thus, the secret of all perfect Buddhas, self-nature does not abide in emptiness, the meaning of being free from extremes does not grasp the Middle Way, abandoning the intrinsic nature, the Great Perfection is accomplished. Thus, the transmission of the intent of the collection is declared.

From... Emaho, how wondrous and marvelous is the Dharma! The secret of all the perfect Buddhas! Unfabricated, unadulterated, uncreated. As it is, the nature is perfectly pure. Emaho, how wondrous and marvelous is the Dharma! The secret of all the perfect Buddhas! The very nature of mind, without a root, is the root of all Dharmas. Emaho, how wondrous and marvelous is the Dharma! The secret of all the perfect Buddhas! From the nature of no-nature, great bliss is spontaneously accomplished. Emaho, how wondrous and marvelous is the Dharma! The secret of all the perfect Buddhas! It is neither empty nor not empty, and even the Middle Way is not an object of focus. Thus it is taught. If it is said that Dzogchen and Sherchin (Perfection of Wisdom) have different names and therefore do not have the same meaning, it is because the obscuration of wisdom by consciousness only leads to the practice of subduing others as asceticism. You friends of the five-faced good countenance do not understand that all the paths of Sutra and Tantra abide in the six perfections. It is true that the cultivation of generation and completion stages is not Samadhi, so you lack the opportunity for contemplation. The cultivation of Dzogchen is not emptiness, so you lack the opportunity for wisdom. Keeping vows is not morality, so you fall into the abyss of secret misconduct. The inexpressible, unthinkable, and unutterable noble path is not the path of liberation, so even if you see the truth, you will still be an ordinary person. If you ask how the inexpressible, unthinkable, and unutterable noble path is manifested, it is manifested when Rahula praised the Mother. When the activity of the mind is pacified in the Dharmadhatu, and even a little bit of the Middle Way is not perceived, then the self-nature is empty. From the point of view of spontaneous accomplishment, it is the unceasing illusion of clear and unwavering luminosity and wisdom, which is called Dzogchen. As it is said in the Jewel Ocean: "Luminosity has four aspects. Completion is the ground of great wisdom. Appearances are non-conceptual. Spreading is the illusion of wisdom. Obtaining the sacred is the path of the noble ones. Nearness to obtaining is completion." Such a principle is generally shown to be inconceivable by the logic of epistemology and so on. The logic of increasing disputes follows after examination and subsequent inference. The object of ultimate truth is contrary to this. Individual self-awareness transcends the realm of expression. Thus, the wisdom of individual discrimination, generated by the thought-born of logic, is one-sided.
