It should be known as the supreme wisdom and the one endowed with great compassion. Thus it is said. Furthermore, the way sentient beings are deluded from that base is: These ignorant sentient beings of the three realms, although there is no delusion in the initial base, the appearance of the base is ignorance, the sudden cause is the single self-nature. That itself goes downward, the co-emergent one, the names, meanings, and self-grasping are all discriminated. From the three ignorances, four causes of delusion arise. The base itself abiding like a house is the causal condition. The arising of conceptual thought upon it is the condition of the lord. From that, the object and the subject are the conditions of focus. The three together are the immediate condition. From the assembly, the delusion gradually becomes powerful, the accumulation of afflictions increases, and the place and type of samsara are established. The twelve links of dependent origination are like the wheel of a chariot. Thus, although there is no delusion in the initial base, the cause of not recognizing the self-nature that appears as the base is the ignorance of the single self-nature. From that, a subtle discriminating consciousness arises, and as that power increases, the mere reversal of not knowing is called co-emergent ignorance. From that state, the object, the light appearance, is divided into the appearance of two minds, self and other, and from the aspect of division, it becomes the division of name, meaning, and self-grasping, which is the ignorance of the all-discriminating one. Thus, the three ignorances, the causal conditions, gather and combine, just as when the three, object, eye, and eye-consciousness, gather, and from the gathering of the eye, feeling arises from the condition of contact. The way the four conditions arise from that is, in the Mirror of the Heart of Vajrasattva, it says: All these sentient beings of the three realms are deluded into anything from a non-base. That base is emptiness in essence, luminosity in nature, and compassion capable of appearing to sentient beings. Upon that, the grasping consciousness arises from the aspect of ignorance, and just a slight movement occurs. The ignorant consciousness thinks, "Did I arise from that? Or did that arise from me?" Just the arising of that thought is delusion. That ignorance does not exist in the base, but exists in experience or phenomena. From phenomena, four kinds of phenomenal conditions arise. That is also the base abiding in the form of a light-sphere, which is called the causal condition, which is actual ignorance. The arising of conceptual thought upon that is called the condition of the lord. Upon that

Because of clinging to the object of focus, it is called the objective condition. It is like showing a person's face in a mirror. These three are the same, so it is called the immediately preceding condition. Because one does not recognize that it is one's own basis, one is deluded, so the cycle of the three realms is accomplished. From this, the afflictions become coarse, and the forms of sentient beings become different. Delusion arises from such a basis. Thus. In this way, the manner in which the cause, effect, name, and various appearances are deluded from the four conditions is also from the Auspicious and Beautiful One. That is, delusion also arises from the four conditions, and ultimately it also comes down to the four conditions. From clinging to the cause as having an object of focus, one is deluded into the cause of various effects. From clinging to the master as having an object, one is deluded into various names. From clinging to the object of focus as having wisdom, one is deluded into the effect having no end. From the immediately preceding condition, which is the condition of having clinging, one is deluded into various appearances. This is the great delusion of the basis of the secret mantra. That is, in the way of appearing, the condition of ignorance appears with its own inherent nature. That ignorance also arises with the five root afflictions, gathering many conceptualizations. It is accompanied by thousands of conditions, accompanied by many ways of appearing, and pervaded by ways of appearing. That is, from the uninterrupted appearance of the state of the spontaneously accomplished jewel box, the basis does not change, but the appearance changes, following many objects, and conceptualizing everything. Although the appearance of the Dharmakaya does not change, it seems as if changes have occurred in the deluded appearance. Although Vajrasattva does not have delusion, he shows the way in which sentient beings are deluded. Ultimately, one's own appearance reverts to one's own four conditions. Because one does not recognize that the non-dual appearance is self-arisen, one clings to delusion as the master, so it is the condition of the master. Because one does not recognize that the fruit of self-awareness is self-arisen, one clings to the cause as being dependent, so it is the condition of the cause. Because one does not recognize that objects and consciousness are empty, Because of clinging to the object of focus as an object, it is the condition of the self-nature of the object of focus. Because one does not recognize that light is self-arisen in dependence on time, consciousness arises that clings to what is not that as that, so it is the same, it is called the immediately preceding condition. In short, the meaning of these is that the condition of the cause, the three ignorances, is like a person's face. For that, the condition of the master that has become conceptual thought
