Just as fire burns, desire is also liberated. Especially when the way of abiding in one's own nature manifests, the transgressions that are established are the nature of the conventional truth of phenomena, accumulating, piling up, like a dream, the unreal nature of self, accompanied by arising and ceasing, unable to grasp its own characteristics. Therefore, the realm of phenomena transcends the state of good and evil, acceptance and rejection, transforming in a way that is without gain or loss. As the Tantra of the Five Hundred Thousand says: A type of stone, when melted, turns into iron, copper, and silver. With the substance that turns into gold, everything can be turned into gold. Likewise, with the difference of mind, the vows of the three families, when entering this great mandala, are called Vajradhara. This is clear. If so, the vows of the three families, merely by entering the great mandala of mantra, are considered to be transformed like objects, so the lower two vows are claimed to be one substance with mantra, is that acknowledged? Generally speaking, like a seed blessed by mantra, ripening into a crop in a single day, the path of Vajrayana is endowed with special methods, so if one is of sharp faculties, like King Indrabhuti, in the mandala of mantra, the three vows become complete and unified, and like the arising of the path of seeing, at the time of empowerment, it is so for those of the lineage who see the wisdom of great bliss. Therefore, there is no need to perform signs and rituals, as the Good Arms Sutra says: The mantra householder abandons signs and rituals. Thus, after establishing the Pratimoksha vows of discipline, on top of that, completing the former two, as the Two Examinations Sutra says: The vows of all Buddhas, are perfectly situated in Evam (藏文,梵文天城体,avam,梵文罗马拟音,无), and are truly known from empowerment. Therefore, the nature of the vows of all the Tathagatas is said to be obtained at the time of empowerment. Although this is so, the way in which the three vows rely on the continuum of one individual, and how they ultimately transform or do not transform, will depend on the realization, habituation, and wisdom of their respective continuums. Therefore, the way of distinguishing with many differences, as the Garland of Light says: Others say that the three vows, like earth, water, and a boat, on top of the four, proclaim desire, which is a place of error.

Yang and others, as well as the master Sgegpa'i Dorje and others, analyze this meaning from various perspectives. Thus it is. Among them, for those with sharp faculties, they enter directly from the mantra vows; for those with medium faculties, they enter from the Bodhisattva vows; and for those with dull faculties, the difference of entering gradually is explained. In the latter case, from the 'Two Examinations': 'Sentient beings without fortune are extremely difficult to tame, by what means will they be tamed? The Bhagavan has declared, first give alms and practice.' This means that from the beginning, those who are not vessels for mantra, or those who are gradually led by practice with faith, mostly have not turned away from seeing things as real and have become dependent on the other's mind, so just by obtaining empowerment, it is impossible for the two lower substances of vows to be transformed into mantra. If at the time of obtaining empowerment, the path of seeing based on the wisdom of example arises, that is not the actual path of seeing after obtaining the supreme Dharma, so even if it arises in the first moment, it often ceases in the second, and the way of transformation also follows after that. Those who have not understood this meaning cite from the 'Secret Conduct Tantra': 'For example, stone turns into copper, copper into the form of gold, when it is copper there is no stone, when it has become gold, copper does not appear. For the inner monk of the Vidyadhara, the Pratimoksha and Bodhicitta, the Buddha himself did not say that these two abide.' They are confused about measuring the depth of this scripture, mistakenly thinking that at the time of the mantra vows, the Pratimoksha and Bodhicitta disappear. They compare the three vows to the wisdom of putting water into water, but water is the same substance from the beginning. The scriptures of both the 'Hundred Thousand Verses' and the 'Practice Chapter' are different in substance and form, so they cannot become their own nature, and they need to be melted and refined to make them compatible, using the example of clinging to reality in the minds of the Great and Small Vehicles, not being skilled in means, and the mind with constant conceptualization, transforming through means, wisdom, and the conduct of the great equality of Dharma, which clearly shows that they have not understood the way of transformation. Therefore, one should not find fault with the treatises of the great scholars who have seen the truth of Dharma nature, who hold that the three vows are transformed, the essence is the same but the aspects are different. If it is not through the conduct of the great equality of Dharma, but through conditioned
