Meditative stabilizations that should be practiced, do not engage in them without permission. In short, whatever actions are performed by body, speech, and mind, do not do even a little without asking and receiving permission from the guru. Furthermore, any virtuous activity should be started after consulting the guru. In all yogic conduct, do not separate from the supreme guru. Whenever eating the three times' meals, offer the best portions, cut into thirds, to the supreme guru. To the guru Vajradhara, even if he has no desire for wealth and precious jewels, offer them as an offering. With the best portions of whatever there is, dedicate and offer them to the supreme guru. In short, all my thoughts should be directed towards the guru with pure and unfeigned devotion. All good qualities will be accomplished. Thus it is said. Therefore, these twenty-seven root vows are not to be transgressed, and should be kept as vows. From the perspective of method, in order to benefit others, based on whether or not transformation is possible, the practice of allowing and forbidding is the way to show the branch vows. Twenty-five branch vows that are transformed by method: sexual union, taking what is not given, lying, frivolous talk. These five things to be practiced should be practiced with the knowledge of what is allowed and forbidden. As it is said in the "Clear Illumination": Five things to be practiced and five not to be abandoned, gladly accepting and accomplishing, and likewise five things to be known, explain whether they are in harmony or not. These five sets of five that are explained are as follows: all the teachings of unsurpassed secret mantra, from the very beginning, there is none that has not attained Buddhahood in the great mandala of the three vajras of the Tathagatas, therefore all of samsara and nirvana are certain to be sealed with the mudra of Samantabhadra, these are the vows. If one understands in this way, all phenomena are equally joined in the pure realm of Samantabhadra, not creating faults for oneself, and also having great benefit for others, one has the power to practice the vows of non-abandonment and non-attachment as they are in the words, and therefore one does not create both white and black karma and karmic results. Until one understands in this way, one should only keep mindfulness close to the hidden meaning of killing the karma winds in the central channel, etc., which will be explained below. Among these, the first five actions to be practiced are, according to the tantra: sexual union, liberation, taking what is not given, lying, and speaking frivolous words, one should, with the certain grasp of the supreme method, in specific circumstances.

It should be known as such. As it is said in the Samputa Tantra: 'You should kill living beings, you should also speak lies, you should also take what is not given, you should also consort with women. Through these Vajra paths, all sentient beings will be liberated.' This is (the content of the scripture). Second, the five that are not to be abandoned are: desire, hatred, delusion, the five afflictions. Not abandoning the five is contrary to the Svatantrika and Vaibhashika schools. As it is said in the 'Clear Explanation': The five true poisons, the five false poisons. Through realizing the equality of samsara and nirvana, the absence of differentiation is delusion; compassionately arising desire for sentient beings who have not realized this; arising hatred to liberate from wrong views; the view of realizing equality, arising pride that has not died; and jealousy for not comprehending the view and conduct of dualistic grasping within the expanse of dharmata. If these five are abandoned, it is not close to the truth, therefore they are called the five true poisons, which is the hidden meaning. As it is said in the 'Extensive Commentary': In conceptual thought itself is self-arisen wisdom, when conceptual thought is not moved, wisdom is inexpressible. The five false poisons are: the general characteristics are impermanence, suffering, selflessness, lack of control, and emptiness. Their individual characteristics are: attachment and craving for external objects and internal sentient beings is desire; always being tormented is hatred; always being deluded is delusion; being arrogant and not pliable is pride; being unable to tolerate the prosperity and perfection of others is jealousy. If these are abandoned, one deviates from the nature of knowing, from the emptiness where afflictions do not have inherent existence, and thus goes astray into the path of the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas. Therefore, in the 'Net of Means' it says: 'Delusion, hatred, pride, desire, great jealousy, are vows without protection, that is the Vajra Samaya.' In its commentary, the Second Buddha, Padmasambhava, said: 'Delusion is the Samaya of Vairochana, why? Because ignorance cannot be abandoned, wisdom cannot be cultivated, because in the Dharmadhatu they are of one taste.' Thus it is said. Although it is so, most ignorant people these days hesitate about the nature of secret mantra, and because they lack devotion and bodhicitta, lack skillful means, wisdom, and samadhi, these people have no liberation, only speculation.
