Having become free from obscurations, one becomes the thirteen Vajra Holders. Like this, the pure ones, by filling each wheel in turn, ultimately achieve the crown. Therefore, in the final moment, they manifestly awaken as Buddhas adorned with the flowers of auspicious marks and signs. For that purpose, the chakras to be struck are explained as follows: sequentially, body, speech, and mind, or the four bodies and five wisdoms; the petals of the wheels, numbered by the six perfections; the ways of what is to be purified and what purifies, through addition and subtraction. In the navel, there are sixty-four; in the throat, sixteen; in the heart, eight petals; in the crown of the head, thirty-two; in the bliss-guarding chakra, seventy-two; likewise, in the crown chakra. It is known as the wheel of the sphere of space. In each wheel and in the intervals between them, there are twelve shifts of wind and seasons, as well as the twelve abodes of dependent arising. In the sphere, there is the progression and regression that excludes shifts. Having gone to the wisdom wheel in the secret place, there is one shift of wind and one dependent arising. When it ceases, the realization of the first earth arises. Sequentially, until the wheel of the sphere of space, the parts of wind and dependent arising are reversed one by one. Earth is twelve, and at the end of perfect completion, when the bindu mixes with the sphere of space, manifest enlightenment, the way of the first Buddha. For this, the central channel is like the life-force upon which the wheels depend, so it is unreasonable to think that it does not exist in the nature of things. If it does not exist, then the qualities to be struck will also follow it. Some also think that the life-force is the central channel, and some think that it is like a support and what is supported. If it is like the first view, then madness and epilepsy will arise there because wind and mind gather. If it is like the second view, it also contradicts the distinctions such as the way the petals branch out from the central channel. Thus, even if one newly fabricates a central channel that does not depend on the life-force, neither of them has understood the intention. If wind and mind gather in the self-sufficient life-force, it will be like that. But in that, how could madness and epilepsy arise from wind and mind gathering in the dharmata central channel that is the object of focus? The great Brahmin said: "Having infused the wind and the moving great force into the life-force channel, ordinary consciousness will naturally cease." Therefore, such a support and what is supported are merely nominal.

In short, the central channel (dubu ma) is said to possess four characteristics because it is a channel that arises from cultivation. However, as the basis of the alaya (kun gzhi) together with the life force (srog rlung), it itself is indispensable, because if the life channel is cut, the vital point is very easy to expose. Therefore, the view that there are three types of central channel: abiding, nature, and ultimate, is logical, as stated in the Four Vajra Seats: "In the staff of body, mind, and life, the instructions of the six unions reside. If endowed with skillful means, it blazes exceedingly." The skillful means here refers to cultivating the central channel of nature within it and striking it as the vital point. The reason why it must be cultivated within it is because it relies on the alaya together with the life force, for the purpose of taming the life force. As stated in the Wisdom Bindu: "In the staff of life it dwells, connected with thirty-two knots, the subtlest of the subtle, truly supreme, not external nor internal." Therefore, from the perspective of the state, in the staff of life or the channel that holds the life force, there is the channel of nature with four characteristics, the nature of luminosity, free from obstruction and contact, as long as the aggregation of body, mind, and breath exists, the channel itself exists, so it is not non-existent either. When these three separate, the channel also becomes invisible along with the breath, so it is not a central channel that exists like a thing. As stated in the Sampūṭa: "Arising from the general beauty of the channels, it is known as being free from dust, equal to the light of pure crystal." It is known as Avadhūti, Excellent Mind Woman, All-Trembling Woman, Rāhu, Darkness Mother, etc. Khakha Mukha, Crow Face, Conch Woman, etc., are physical channels, but it should be determined that they are only classified as names of the central channel. The ultimate central channel is the nature of the fruit that arises from striking the vital point, and that nature is ultimately just the ultimate mantra, so it is called no-nature. Furthermore, the abiding central channel with the staff of life, as a branch of the solitary channel, the channel wheels are also three, like the body, speech, mind, and great bliss wheels. The navel wheel is the nirmāṇakāya wheel, with sixty-four channel petals; the throat wheel is the sambhogakāya wheel, with sixteen channel petals; the heart wheel is the dharmakāya wheel, with eight channel petals.
